Squeezelite Squeezelite and LMS

My approach would be to use the UPnP Bridge in LMS. You can usually make it work at an acceptable ish level with any UPnP renderer if you use “flow” mode.
The UPnP Bridge allows LMS to talk to UPnP renderers, @Pixario was asking if it were possible to see his music from within the WiiM app.
Now if I could make use of my Wiim app (on Android) to search for or browse my music on the LMS then I'd be a happy geezer.
Installing LMS alongside a good UPnP server can give you the best of both worlds, in fact when BBC blocks access to their radio streams I might consider an LMS install just for that - assuming it'll still have access.

It’s not Roon Ready yet and I don’t like Chromecast as it’s just a bit bright. Roon works fine with Squeezelite, it’s not supported but I have using it on my Marantz with LMS UPnP bridge it’s fine. Just set it up using the LMS UPnP bridge to the Wiim and set that up in Roon playing fine. So it’s Wiims implementation that’s the issue here.

My not so humble opinion, with a couple of extras thrown in for free:

Maybe off topic, but the question was asked.

(Both correct.)

Correct.
I then tried with the WiiM Home App (had to use the UPnP Media Interface plugin for WiiM to see the LMS library).

The living room also did not play from the link, but did if I just played it on it's own.

I'm like what the hell is he try....... oh yea.:)
My grammar is like my knowledge of digital audio. I just try to draw from others. As far as "it's", my thought process was ownership. My grammar is poor as is my spelling. Thank goodness for spellcheck and the ability to proof several times before posting. Still a lot of errors go out and most people don't try to be the grammar police, but that question of the closed parenthesis always bugged me. Thanks for your answer!

Well, I am an over zealous non-moderator...

These things don't bother me at all in forums like this (although I do edit my own posts when I notice my own mistakes), but they do bug me on official things like user manuals and within applications.
There's not much text in the Wiim app, but I still can't get past the poor grammar!

I didn’t see what kicked this off, but this not so zealous moderator isn’t bothered by grammatical slips in a forum with international users...

Hi All,

My WiiM Pro has updated to firmware 4.8.529056 and the app version is 2.6.2.230918.2d1076. Should my LMS be able to auto-detect squeezelite running on it? LMS sees my old Squeezebox Duet, but not the WiiM.

TIA

Yes

Okay, thanks. I need to figure out where the breakdown is happening. I don't see any settings specific to squeezelite in the app. Is there a way to access log files on the WiiM device?

If you haven't updated the WiiM Home app, do that too.

Not easily on an iOS device (although you can extract them from a backup), and on android they’re buried deep somewhere too. Best raising a ticket to WiiM so they can inspect them for clues.

Perfect timing on getting squeezebox support into the WiiM Pro. The power supply on my Squeezebox Duet has been acting up (again). Rather that replace it (again) I can now use my WiiM Pro!

Now I need to buy a couple of more WiiM Pros so I can have squeezebox players in other rooms.

With the release of the latest firmware today, squeezelite works properly now with Roon without having to toggle volume to get output. However the remote doesn’t seem to control anything in this mode. Wondering if this is a Roon thing or general as when using Chromecast with Roon it works. Does the remote work when using LMS to feed the squeezelite on the Wiim Pro Plus?
