I totally agree with
@hgo58 and
@slartibartfast. I much preferred the old style WiiM. Their first commitment was to fix the glitches, and 90% of the time they succeeded. Then came the new features. One at a time, over time, but these also worked 90% of the time.
One day they got caught up in a frenzy. They opened I don't know how many Beta Tests at the same time and the funny thing is that all traces of each of them have been lost. Are they finished? What stage are they at? Whoa!!
The last one is 5.1
But, as
@slartibartfast says, what happened to the import of calibration files? Nobody knows.
although since, in my opinion, the ARC is a bit of a strong point of WiiM and, thank God, it works, it should be at the top of their priorities.
Another thing that is often requested, always regarding ARC, is the addition of more filters, but this too is a dead letter.
In House Curve, for example, I could use from 1 to 20 filters. Obviously I use 10 because WiiM doesn't go beyond that and I wouldn't know what to do with corrections beyond 10 filters because I couldn't copy them into WiiM's PEQ. However, if it were possible to use more filters, we would certainly have an even more precise EQ. Furthermore, HC allows smoothing even at 1/24 of an octave.
In conclusion, in my opinion, the right order of intervention,before adding more Beta Tests, should be:
1) Fix once and for all the various malfunctions, which in reality are not that few
2) Improve and complete functions that already work well. See ARC
