Ultra Line Out no sound

Hi. I received an email saying there was a message from you on this thread at about 13.30 today, but it doesn’t appear here for some reason! I just didn’t want you to think I was ignoring it.

I had started a comment but deleted after I wasn't sure it was correct. Not having familiarity with your AVR I wonder if the reason you have to have Stereo Direct engaged to hear the line out from the Ultra is because it's an all analog connection? Were you trying to engage the AVR's processor for bass mgmt, etc, when you couldn't get sound?

Hi. Yes, I think you’re spot on with that. I was plugged into an rca input on the Arcam, and the only way I could get sound was by engaging the stereo direct mode which bypasses all the Arcam’s surround processing modes and the subwoofer. I’ll have to live with it for now as I’m an elderly bloke and I don’t fancy having to lug the amp, which weighs about 16kgs out again!
