Ultra trigger to Topping D70 Pro | Wake up at night

I agree with this conclusion. Mine was working fine before the silent reboots started.
To add on this, even the WiiM Vibelink appears to have the same; it's not often noticed as it has both a signal timeout and the 12v Trigger, so if you do not happen to be awake at night ( :sneaky: ) you do not notice, as it wakes up, remains ON and the after a while the timeout switch it OFF, the latter not controlled by the v0 switch.

It can be another reason why some brands/models appears to suffer, others do not. In the Topping D70 Pro case, mine, it has both signal timeout and v12 trigger, but those are mutually exclusive unfortunately, so it's either one or the other.

BTW: second day of my Ultra connected via Optical, as expected found the DAC OFF. Two days still to validate if Optical is different from USB.

Based on the monitoring I’m doing of the WiiM player status, it hasn’t transitioned to status = none for the past 6 days. This makes me think that the WiiM team made some change.

Specifically, from the 2nd of the month until today, it has not performed the reboot that normally happens every three days.

On my system it did a silent reboot at night on 6/January. It was after 3 days of no reboots, I'm tracking to see if day after tomorrow will do as well confirming the cycle. To test any impact, I switched to Optical from USB.

If your Topping has an auto-off function doesn‘t it also have an auto-on function reacting to an incoming signal?

If this is so, why not skip the trigger on it alltogether?

I‘m currently running my Ultra into a Lyngdorf SDA-2400 power amp which has these functions. It turns on when there‘s an incoming audio signal and will go into standby after 20 min. without any signal. Very convenient indeed. And one cable less.

I can do it as Topping has both signal driven activation/deactivation as well as v12 trigger, but I do like the v12 trigger option better. It's a feature that devices have, and so I'm keen to use it. It's not the only one, but is the one that I like the most. If all prove it to be broken for whatever reason, I'll find out alternatives for sure and signal driven activation is one.

Ok, that‘s your preference. With the auto functions in place I consider the trigger superfluous.
