None. You won’t hear any performance upgrade last what the Ultra’s dad is offering.

I really don't get it.. people buying the Ultra, a perfectly capable device which does it all, only to add an external DAC. If you're going to add an external DAC, why not just stick to a WiiM Pro?
I mean, if the internal DAC isn't enough for you or if you really think you need XLR's, you're probably not going to use the built-in phono input either? Only an external headphone amp seems to make sense after reading Amir's review.

That's the problem when reviews start spouting absolutes like "better than human hearing". If improvement isn't possible or necessary than let's just STOP right here and never develop anything new.
I'm old enough to remember 1982 "perfect sound, forever". Everyone got on board & vinyl was dead. But it wasn't perfect, was it? 40 years of improvements followed--even tho the "experts" said it was impossible.

Not my point... I'm sure much progress has been made over the past 40 years - hopefully.
I just don't see why people are buying the Ultra - with an excellent built-in DAC, only to add their own. Because the main extra cost factor compared to the Mini or the Pro are the upgraded DAC and accompanying built-in power supply, not the tiny touch screen or the volume knob
People that buy highend gear still believe that their super expensive new dac is ”less colored” than cheaper dacs that measures very well. Again and again Amirm has shown with measurement that expensive streamers often measures terrible, but the owner may like the sound of them anyway.
Why dont we all confess that we might like colorations to get a greater musical perceived illusion from the very flawed stereo system ? And we are ready to pay money for it ?
