What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

The problem with a Y-splitter is that both signals have the full frequency range -- lows still go to the main speakers. (I know most subs have their own crossover to blocks highs.) I'm not familiar with how many of the class D amps you speak of have a high-pass filter for the mains, but I suspect not many, though I could easily be wrong. I have an Aiyima A70 and it's sub output does not have a crossover for the main outputs. I really like the way the Ultra coordinates the high and low pass filters for both sub and mains.

people who can afford to put an external dac in it can afford to keep an internal dac which will only cost a few dozen dollars, right? .. if for economic aspects, "budget", they would use the internal one... and a much larger market for wiim..
you want so much harm to wiim to embark them on the more niche market of audiophiles, when they are just building a beginning of legitimacy in audio, and are on the very general public "budget" market....?

ask eversolo to make you a streamer without a dac..;-)

for wiim
the irony is that if only for a niche market of audiophile with dac externe "hdg"...would be...more expensive without dac

hihi

another irony..is that it seems to me that the people who express this idea already have a wiim streamer and a dac.. or just a wiim streamer...and therefore no reason to buy one "without dac"...

I would have bought the Pro but I read that the Pro+ had a much better DAC. That may be true but it's still not good enough to use without an external DAC. The Neohipo DC10 reviewed in the ASR link is $49 on eBay and it measures better than the 4 figure Cord DAC. For me it's not about affordability it's more about paying for something I don't need or use. I'd gladly swap the wasted DAC in my Pro+ for extra inputs or outputs.

I agree Y-splitters are not always ideal but they work. OTOH a full frequency signal is necessary with most of the speakers I build ( full range single drivers ). With those I bi-amp with no crossover on the FRSD and low pass the sub/woofers to fill out the bottom end.

How do you bi-amp a speaker with a single driver?

The full range single drivers ( on top ) in open baffles run full range powered by flea watt SET amps while the H-frame OB bass woofers on bottom are driven by their own powerful plate amps. The plate amps have built in frequency controls that low pass the woofers. The huge advantage is no passive crossover to mar the signal from SET amp to FRSD. The silver DAC receives its digital signal from either a WiiM Pro+ streamer or Node2i, whichever I'm using at the time.

Sorry if I have offended you.
You didn't. You just made me feel insecure, since I had difficulties understanding why someone would find the concept amusing. I think it's perfect. So, no offense taken! ;-)
I did not ridicule your post. As @Burnside said, the giant remote was just fun.😄
It's not just a remote. It's the frontpanels of the whole system (includes FM tuner and CD player and pre) at your fingertips.

A bit like many don't understand why a touchscreen on modern streamers would make sense (instead of just a display).

You might be able to get this from URC, RTI, or Control 4 with their integration to the WiiM CI products.

I'd love to see an integrated with beefier amp section. Something like an ultra with hypex/purifi amplification. An end-game integrated amplifier.

Trouble is, for some a "beefier amp section" (how much more power?) is end game, for others it's something else.

Wiim Streamer/Transport with no DAC and no Pre-Amp just really high end circuits and components for purely streaming and DSP/EQ
and a nice chassis like the Ultra has and a OLED-display.
Boom nailed it. The best transport that they can build. Within reason. But the ultra is really good. I just don’t use any other of its features.
