For my desktop righ, I used to have Wiim Pro, connected to an SMSL M500 MKII DAC, to an SMSL A300 Amp powering QAcoustics 3030i.
The speakers, although bulky for a desktop rig, are chosen for its bass capabilities and its tweeter shortcomings was resolved by the ESS9038PRO DAC Chip.

Wifey gave ma a WiiM Amp Ultra for my birthday, and I decided to leverage its Subwoofer integration with an old Wharfedale Sub. It would have been great, except that the internal DAC can no longer cover for QA3030i's tweeter shortcomings. Unlike the external ESS9038PRO, Less detailed on the highs and no longer holographic. And the sub nullifies the pros of having a large bookshelf.

Having articulated my setup, can anyone share their speakers for their WiiMs, and help me with a good speaker pairing for WiiM Amp Ultra that already have a subwoofer? Ergo, emphasis now is for the mids and highs, and imaging. And perhaps one that is also good for near field listening.

In the living room I have the WiiM Amp Pro connected to a pair of Paradigm Monitor 9v7.
And in the open kitchen there is an MS50a so I can keep listening.

Thinking about adding the Sub.

My reply won't be of any help, but... I bought a pair of Q Acoustics Concept 30 a few weeks ago whe they were less than half price. Unfortunately I have not yet bought my planned WiiM Amp Ultra. I can get it 10% of RRP, but may hold out a bit in case Black Friday helps further. I liked the Concept 30s in the store, so I'm hoping they pair well with the Amp Ultra.

WiiM Amp Ultra connecting to Spendor A4 as TV sound system. No subwoofers. Although the A4s sensitivity measures only 84dB, but the Amp Ultra drive it withount any issue.

I’m running a pair of Paradigm floor-standers (Monitor SE 6000F) off an Amp Ultra with a SVS sub that I’m very happy with. When I was shopping for them, I was also looking at a comparable Klipsch model, I think the Reference Premier RP-5000F, but the Crutchfield rep said they were too bright for her liking, so I went with the Paradigms. The Klipsch RP series bookshelf speakers appear to have the same bright sound profile. The RP-600M II looks like it would pair nicely with the Amp Ultra and a sub and give you that crispness you’re missing … and they’re on sale at Crutchfield right now.
