Please review the WiiM Amp update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

5.0.636939 (Latest)

Release date:
11 / 28 / 2024

Bug Fixes:
  1. Room Correction with Independent L/R Channels: Resolved an issue that prevented Room Correction from functioning properly, ensuring a smoother user experience.

I see independent channel RC is now stored as a single filter containing L and R. This wasn't the fix 😃
This is exactly what didn't work for me with the previous firmware: It offered to save RC into a single filter but it would only store one channel.

I'll try and see as soon as I get this update ...

Just updated and tried the independent L/R rc. So far so good.

And these are from this morning after the newest update. I don’t use rc below 50Hz and I turn my sub off for the test. After I turn my sub on and ran the timing. Then I set the crossover to my sub at around 40-45Hz.

I noticed the top end open up and channel separation come a bit more alive. I’ll keep playing around with it. Good free software updates. Keep up the good work! Happy customer here!

Great to see independent channel RC saved to a single preset working.

That "ultrasonic" correction above 10 kHz is suspicious, though. A 10 to 12 dB boost in this frequency range cannot be right. Most probably the measurement is simply wrong due to the lacking mic built into the phone. How much do you toe-in your speakers?

I’ve noticed those narrow band spikes in previous versions of room correction. I would just edit them after the fact. I probably should edit these spikes as well. My case was off my iPhone this when I ran the test. Not sure 🤔 My speakers are at a slight angle. I do have vaulted ceilings though.

I'd say disable those corrections above 10 kHz then and check if you miss something.

If you don't, re-run the calibration but limit it to a smaller frequency band so there are more filters available for where it really counts.

It isn't just narrow band spikes though, it starts rising at 4kHz and keeps going. I would try again limiting the correction to 4kHz or lower.

Appreciate the suggestions 👍🏼 I re ran r/c and yup different results lol the filters focused on some different bands.
