App Release Version
v3.1.7

The iOS app is now available, while the Android app is still under review.

What’s New:
  1. Quick Network Switch – Easily change Wi-Fi networks from the Network Status page.
  2. Smarter Browsing – Stay on your current page when switching devices for a smoother experience.
  3. Group Naming Update – You can now set a master device within a speaker group.
  4. Pandora UI Upgrade – Switch between grid/list views and access the Quick Mix preset.
  5. New Language Support – Now available in Polski!
  6. Wi-Fi Setup Optimization – Improved setup to avoid empty password issues.
  7. Samba Enhancement – Add tracks from multiple folders to your queue.
  8. Radio Paradise (iOS) – Support added for the My Favorites Mix station.
  9. iPad Support – HotMix and Pandora now fully adapted for iPad (iOS).
  10. Input Settings Shortcut – Quickly access input-specific settings from the Browse page.
  11. USB/NAS Playback – Increased track limit to 2,000.
  12. WiiM Ultra Display Options – New clock position settings and an orange VU meter added.
  13. Devices Page (Android) – Improved performance and smoother interaction.
Bug Fixes:
  1. Plex Presets (iOS) – Fixed an issue preventing playback of Plex station presets.
  2. Room Correction (Android) – Calibration files now apply properly.
  3. USB Media Library – Artist name display corrected (run a quick scan to update).
  4. Alarm Crash Fix – Resolved crash when setting NAS as an alarm source.

Just curious: what is this update about? “USB/NAS Playback – Increased track limit to 2,000.”. My NAS library is much larger than 2000 tracks but I never experienced any issues?

Playback queue? It used to be limited to 500.

In the Ultra roadmap under things they’re working on, the first entry is “Support App Widgets on iOS and Android”
I don’t know if using the regular playback control API in iOS can be used to control media played on another device, it would be the best solution.
But the live activities API could also do the job as developers can put anything in it as long as they respect iOS’s design guidelines.

Has been on the roadmap for a long time and it's really not what is needed. Both iOS and Android has APIs that allows an application to be integrated into the media control of the OS. Applications like Spotify and Tidal are already using this.

To my request (#511843 Android Media Control) 6 months ago I got the answer:

"Regarding the background volume control function, we have added your request to our feature list. If we have the opportunity to implement this feature in the future, we will certainly consider it."

And to a question about the status 3 month ago I got:

"We are still working on the functionality within the WiiM Home app to allow the phone’s volume button to control the device volume in the background."
