Hi Team,

1. Sync Main Speakers & Sub: Align main speakers and subwoofer for the listening position using the phone’s microphone (requires an upcoming beta firmware update).

That's wonderful. I can't wait to try it out. 😄

2. Standby Source Mode: Automatically switch to a selected input source when the device enters Standby (requires an upcoming beta firmware update).

Is this the feature I suggested earlier?

Can I switching the input to Wi-Fi automatically when entering standby mode resolve the issue where auto-sensing from HDMI to Optical-in doesn't work?

If that's the case, I believe it would be a great improvement. Thank you. 🤗

Beta Features

1. Sync Main Speakers & Sub: Align main speakers and subwoofer for the listening position using the phone’s microphone (requires an upcoming beta firmware update).
With this feature I assume you could install the beta firmware (when available) to perform the speaker/sub sync, make a note of the result, revert to official firmware and enter the required delay if necessary.

If, in certain cases, gaining a few PEQ points ( example headphone ..) (see more functions related to peq points) could be interesting...
Conversely, the idea (which may seem surprising) of reducing, to "force" him, the number of PEQ points taken into account during calculation if not full bandwidth (""less than 300Hz"") would align with the smoothing approach, perhaps being even more "understandable" for everyone... (?)
;-)
(The processing of subwoofer calibration, even if it doesn't concern the majority of Wiim users, will be interesting to observe... "technical"!)
(Quick question: how is the balance between the two channels handled in LR mode upstream of the roomfit processing?)

Usefull from rew manual
(Warning... these smoothing approaches often have very "full band" considerations, like "curve" (often in the high frequencies... a "hs"at 4000, minus a few dB, and a low Q factor is sufficient) ;-). ;-))

The beta firmware hasn't been released yet and will probably arrive on the Ultra first. I am not holding my breath waiting for it on the Amp.
Wouldn't it be more consistent to have entrusted it to the most "passionate local enthusiasts", with a subwoofer and ultra, in beta testing before announcing it? It's a rather difficult subject...

Even if this will be a public beta right from the start (and why not?) only a small portion of enthusiast will care about it anyway. Considerably less people than the number of those who will benefit from the outcome, at least.

Sure... we'll see ;-)
As a reminder... we've a situation for months where an approach using the Wiim microphone was developed... a beta version might have been a good idea ...
;-))

Sync Main Speakers & Sub: Align main speakers and subwoofer for the listening position?
For the benefit of a non audiophile, would someone explain what this actually means?
Thanks...

What is this situation using the WiiM microphone? Something that hasn't ever been tried?

In order for proper integration of the subwoofer with your speakers, the sound put out from the sub needs to hit your ears (where you listen from) at precisely the same time as the sound emitted from the speakers.

With the original programming, this was not the case, because it relied on a microphone inside of the WiiM itself and not in or attached to your phone (which is, presumably, where you listen from).

Could any of the room correction experts give some feedback on the three new modes? ChatGPT suggests variable as the more neutral, then Physioacoustics and last ERB, but you know what ChatGPT knows about audio and room correction 😂
