WiiM Sound with Sub Pro general settings question

I've had a stereo pair of Wiim Sounds in my living room and love how they sound. Today I got my sub pro to go with them. I'm not a big fan of roomfit and I always just use the peq to my liking. Plus when trying a roomfit on the sub, since I don't have an external mic it got limited down to 60hz only.

Anyways, I had to compromise with the Mrs and the only spot for my sub is behind our couch with only a couple inches from the couch and rear wall. It's an apartment so the living room is not too big. For the most part it sounds ok, but I would like to get a more "together " sound with my Sounds that are on two bookshelves about 9-10 feet in front of my couch and about 8 feet or so apart from each other. Some songs do sound together and can't really tell where the bass is coming from while others I can tell the bass is behind me and the couch.

My current sub settings are crossover at 75, +8 on the level and 0°. On my Sounds I have a hpf at 60. Any general suggestions to get a more blended sound? Or am I just screwed due to my setup/sub placement that really isn't negotiable right now.

How did you manage to get different crossover frequencies for the WiiM Sub Pro and your pair of Wiim Sound speakers (and why)?

To my understanding this should neither be possible nor desired. Can you post screenshots of the WiiM Home App showing this setup?

I just changed a PK to HP in the peq and set it accordingly for each Sound. For the sub pro, I just set it in the sub pro settings. As to why, just messing with it to find something that sounds good to me. And yeah, it's probably not desired by most but with my sub placement that's not optimal, I guess I want a little more low end from the Sounds to try to blend in a bit better with the sub. Sounds ok to me the more I'm listening also.

This setup is not going to get you more output from the WiiM Sound, though.

When paired wirelessly, the subwoofer crossover frequency implements both, a low pass filter for the sub and a high pass filter for the Sound at the same frequency. Admittedly, I didn't test this with two Sounds set up as a stereo pair, but I did confirm it by measurements using a single WiiM Sound and a WiiM Sub Pro.

Adding yet another high pass filter at 60 Hz is not going to add anything (unless you went for a Q value above 0.71, which will create a peak above the cutoff frequency).

Bummer you had no success with RoomFit so far (probably due to the limitations of the phone's mic), because it can really help with blending sub and speakers.

The traditional solution to your problem would be to further decrease the crossover frequency in the subwoofer settings, maybe to 65 or 60 Hz. I wouldn't go any lower than that. You should also make sure that there isn't any specific cancellation in your listening position. In this case you can try flipping the "Phase" switch and/or manually changing the delay between speakers and sub. However, this is much easier to do with measurements than by ear.

You could use RoomFit just as a measuring device (and abandon it's correction later), but this would still require a half trustworthy mic like e.g. the Dayton Audio iMM-6C.

Did some more fiddling with it. I was not aware that the HPF was automatically applied when the Sub is connected wirelessly. I removed those manual filters I added, lowered the sub crossover to 70 and did flip the phase to 180. There is no delay setting though for the sub pro and sounds pairing. It definitely sounds better now. Much more blended in and it gives a more sense of the bass coming from in between the two Sounds. Thanks for the tips! Really appreciate it.

I've been referring to the delay setting from the top of my head. It might be there (just ab bit too well hidden) or not. I'll be setting up my WiiM Sub Pro with a Sound and Sound Lite in stereo mode shortly, so my setup should be comparable to yours.

Admittedly, the high pass filtering of the WiiM speakers is not really obvious. I refrained from posting about it until I got my own WiiM Sub Pro and I believe that the documentation should be more clear about it. It's a vital feature users should be aware of.

Dostępny w parze słuchawek stereo Wiim Sounds i jestem zachwycony ich związek. Dzisiaj działa do nich subwoofer Sub Pro.

Hi...I also recently bought a Wiim sub. There's too much bass in my case. I have everything set to minimum. It was even nice to be able to turn it down even further than -15db.
