Since this firmware update, my home router (Comtrend GRG-4280us, software version MMV-C04_R15) is being rebooted periodically every few minutes.

I had to disconnect and reset many devices to diagnose that the issue appears when Wiim Ultra is connected to the router through Ethernet (I have not tried throught WiFi yet).

Once Wiim Ultra is connected, first the router's WiFi stops working (Ethernet is still working), then the router's Internet connection stops working, then the router reboots completely, and then the router starts working fine for a few minutes before the issue starts again, and the cycle is repeated nonstop.

I have factory reset both the router and the Wiim Ultra, and I have checked that Wiim Ultra has the build 20250619.

Please, the changes about "Smart DNS" and "Time Sync" introduced in this update, what do they consist of?

When the issue occurs, you should raise a ticket to WiiM via the more/feedback section in the app so they can inspect your device logs for clues as to why this might be happening

Ultra V meter for me is nice only for the blue Mcintosh style. For me it's enough.

I have two Wiim Ultra devices both working off the same router on the same network. Both are playing UK radio stations, Amber Radio and the other on Greatest Hits Radio. My Android cellphone indicated a new update (v5.2.720535) is available and would I like to update both devices, to which I agreed as I usually do.

The first Ultra streaming Amber Radio Ultra has updated successfully to this latest version, yet the second Ultra (GHR) states that there are no new updates available and remains on v5.2.719248 - Jun 6, 2025.

Why would this be?

Don't know the exact reason why, but it's quite common, and normal.
The 2nd one will see the update in due time. It might even update all by itself overnight.

Try power cycling the one that didn’t appear to update, and if that fails, try adding any available beta firmware to it then try to revert to public firmware to see if that helps.

I understood it to be not available yet (for that one ultra), not tried and failed.

Yeah, it’s ambiguous - I read it that updates were offered for both and one failed, although a single popup rocket screen wouldn’t offer both as far as I can see, you’d need to be on the firmware page to have two updates offered.

Thank you for the replies, I normally see these updates appear about 3 days after they are announced on the forum so I was actually quite surprised to receive the notification today already. Guess I will leave it until tomorrow, I'm pretty sure it will appear by then. It was just surprising to see the update request appear just two days after release with the option to update both devices simultaneously, and then be met with the info I posted above.

Has anyone got this update?
Just got the update on my ultra and screens are the same
Don’t know why I had the new ones before the firmware update

Apparently the answer is yes.
