I actually like it
I am actually using it when I didn’t in the past
Ran roomfit accept it then added my eq setting and it sounds good to me 👍
Which target curve did you pick for Roomfit? I choose B&K but if there was a tilt option for EQ I would be more likely to choose flat and then add an EQ on top.

I fully agree, it has the potential to be VERY useful. And as long as you just have one RoomFit profile it already would work nice - problems start when you have slightly more complicated setup requiring multiple room corrections (e.g. WiiM Ultra connected to wo sets of speakers via two ampfiers).

Yea B&k was what I used but I haven’t messed about with it to much as previously I did not like how it sounded
Just used manual eq 😊
I will do more after I get my new speakers in 3 weeks, waste of time until then
Cannot wait to stop using the Sonos speakers tbh

Just did a new flat profile will test tomorrow morning 👍

I am very very sorry if it sounded that I am attacking you - not at all, I very much appreciate your help! I am just a bit frustrated as the much welcome feature actually broke my entire routines due to some tiny UI problem. And in fact I cannot imagine any reason for the presets (or - for the record: outputs) do not include switch for RoomFit - it is not hardware limitation as the gear is perfectly capable of having this applied (I just must apply this manually instead of via pressing button on my remote). Btw: is it anyway to revert to previous firmware and stick to this? - because in fact I would opt for this...
No problem at all🙂
Sorry, I was just joking a bit. I understand your frustrate. When I receive this FW, I will send a request ticket again.

Guys, maybe you would know - is there a way to setup RoomFit / EQ in such manner that it automatically equalizes loudness - i.e. if I push one band higher all other would slightly go down proportionally, so total level is unchanged?
Not that I'm aware of.

This update doesn't seem to be available on my WIIM. Do I wait or can I force the download?
You have to wait until it's shown as available for your device. No forced update, no manual side loading.

Is there any real benefit in keeping the average of all PEQ filters the same? How exactly should that average be calculated?

RoomFit now has the "Cut-Only Mode" (for as long as it hasn't been renamed to what @Wiimer suggested). It avoids a boost in any frequency range but does not attempt to give a neutral average. Wouldn't make sense with respect to digital clipping.

It's probably better to work with negative manual PEQ adjustments only, as long as the required gain range is sufficient.

Firmware just arrived. I tested this literally for 5 minutes, but it seems that this functionality requires some tweaking to make it fully functional. Please also be so nice to correct me if my analysis is wrong and I simply missed something? @WiiM Team - please advise.

AS OF NOW:
1) You can switch RoomFit on and off, you can also have several RoomFit profiles to select from, however
2) You cannot assign RoomFit status (on / off) nor its particular profiles to particular output (even though each profile indicates on which output it was measured). There is no such switch in the Output section of the settings,
3) You cannot assign RoomFit status nor its particular profile to particular preset. There is no such switch in the Preset section of the settings.

WHY THIS IS SUBOPTIMAL (OR EVEN: IN SOME USE CASES - WORSE THEN BEFORE)
1) Now, when switching to other output you must manually change the status of RoomFit, or else you will stick to the one selected before (not matching particular output - e.g. speakers connected to particular amp),
2) Before the update it was not a problem as you link the EQ status (that included RoomFit data) to particular preset, so you could switch outputs with the presets and get proper RoomFit after such switch. Obviously it was not possible to independently "stack" EQ on this, so you needed e.g. 2-3 EQ settings for each output - e.g. I had different EQ (including already RoomFit data) for radio stations via optical and different for streaming via optical - quite cumbersome but... working. Now apparently it is not possible and everytime I switch output I will have to remember about it and get deeply into settings to change RoomFit (before I could also do this easily from Now Playing screen).

WHAT SHOULD BE CHANGED:
1) Adding switches for RoomFit in Output and Preset sections - selection from existing RoomFit profiles, including OFF. It seems to be relatively easy change to implement. EDIT: Of course, this switch should also have the option of not changing anything (i.e. "Current").

As a side note - if I am not wrong and it really works the way as I described, I am quite surprised that it was not anyhow detected / improved during [I guess 6 months of] beta testing of this feature.
there's more - with the new RoomFit update, you can't turn it off form the Ultra's EQ screen.
is there a way to revert back?

Unfortunately @WiiM Team did not put the previous version up as a beta version, so you could revert to it. Only the previous previous version is there.

arrived this morning. nothing of interest for me. best thing, the ultra still does for what i have it. noticed that it is only revertible to one, the previous previous version. no choice or stack in sight.

very weird this feature was in beta testing for so long, and now released as "stable" with an actual decrease in functionality
