I looks like there is need for that because it seems you have a problem accepting that other people do or like somethings different than you, judging by your reply's to various others. Maybe I'm "triggered" by that because sometimes I have a tendency to do it also but always try to prevent it.
Not at all. I was merely checking that veskop understood that the device where the stations were stored would be the same device where they were set up and he pointed me to a thread that was not the same issue as he was having.

judging by your reply's to various others.
I guess you are talking about the automatic updates discussion that we had. I thought I was quite polite with you.
Perhaps you misunderstood me.

I told you allready , i checked on my iPad, list was empty after firmware update this morning. App on iPad was up-to-date.
The list of URL's are stored at the phone/tablet where you added them. So a firmware update should not be able to delete them. A WiiM Home App reinstall will however do that.

@WiiM Team

Could you please tell us what can we expect regarding the issue and the proposition given? I also cannot deactivate HDMI in TV. Even if I could, I don't like this solution, as I watch movies with my audio setup. It's just not used on daily basis

I have no idea why they are constantly leaving @hgo58 and others in the dark on this. It seems obvious that the Ultra should be able to turn on and off how it presents itself as an ARC endpoint. This is basic AVP/AVR functionality and they already proved they can do it with previous betas. That’s the craziest part. Why ever disable useful options?

They even have the toggle in the WiiM Home App.

"Use HDMI Audio Only in HDMI Mode"

"HDMI audio" being HDMI ARC.
"HDMI Mode" meaning that the HDMI ARC is selected as input.
So: "Only enabled HDMI ARC discovery if selected as input"

It's just not working! And have not for more than a year.

Let me pick up two of the ‚issues‘ emphasize in this thread.

HDMI behaviour
and
Automatic updates

I appreciate the critisim. But you (the posters) should be aware of your status as very advanced users.
The average user wants exactly those features. He can‘t be bothers with manually initiated updates. Nor will he accept that his TV sound is not present, regardless of any setting he may have changed more or less undeliberately.

I just tested it. My Ultra will not react to any TV signal when ‚Use HDMI only when in HDMI mode‘ is toggled ON. So I really don‘t understand the critisim. … or I haven‘t understood the problem, as you suggested.
Gave this a try as well and it seems to work as expected.

By default, the option was turned off, causing the WiiM Ultra to always wake up from standby and switch to HDMI input, along with the TV. This is actually how I prefer it and how most people would expect it to work so I'll leave it like this.

When I turn this option on for testing, the WiiM will not wake up from standby with the TV if it is set to a different input than HDMI. So at first sight, the setting seemed to do its job.

*HOWEVER* with the TV turned off, I started a webradio in the WiiM. Then I turned my TV on and even though I had enabled the option, my WiiM still switched to HDMI. So yes, the setting seems to be ignored in specific situations.

* Edit: this option seems totally unpredictable indeed, because now I find myself turning the TV on/off without the WiiM turning on/off (while in HDMI input mode). The WiiM Home app nicely reports "HDMI ARC connected/disconnected"

Hi @sNc ,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused!

There may be an incompatible issue with your TV. Please help us by sending feedback via the WiiM Home app, and our engineers will investigate the issue.

It's LG C3. C4 also has this issue. Very popular TVs / models. I will create a ticket, but its not only me; there are more people.

I think the point perhaps being made is that there may not be one fix that covers all devices. Fixing it for one make might break it for another. While a “standard”, HDMI ARC/CEC is often poorly implemented on different platforms (Samsung being one that springs to mind) and unless the protocol identifies the tv make/model (or the WiiM app has an option to specify that) it may be a fools errand to produce a “one size fits all” solution.

I don't think so!

The current situation, when the HDMI CEC toggle is disabled works fine as far as I can see. So that should not be changed and shall be the default.

The issue is that the HDMI CEC toggle don't work when enabled.

The opposite is true for the HDMI auto-sensing toggle. It doesn't work when disabled, as the input then still changes to HDMI when a signal is received on ARC.

The default settings is working for all that always want TV sound output via the WiiM, so that is ok. It's when you want to control the use of HDMI ARC manually it fails.

I have received the update and there is still work to do to improve the frame rate of the VU and Spectrum Analyzer. I’m not sure if we are bumping up against processor limitations here. Frame rate needs to be running at least 30 fps with 60 fps as an ideal. The VU is currently about as smooth as my Squeezebox Touch from 2010.

Not that I’ve heard of. Guess you can always ask them.
OT:
Just discovered this member section of the forum. It seems you are only around 70 away from pole position. While reading a lot here over the last weeks it seems to remain in the family? Anyway, they are on your heels. 😉
