Have you hidden inputs other than Wi-Fi and HDMI? If so, please display the "Optical-in". Then, change the standby mode source to "Optical-in."

When you play music via Wi-Fi, the Ultra input will automatically switch to Wi-Fi.
I had also eliminated all input options but HDMI and Ethernet/WiFi. Like @Ultra1224, I mainly source music from the HDMI-connected Apple TV 4K. It was a challenge trying to implement this Standby Screen on HDMI workaround because I kept looking to edit the list of visible inputs under device settings under "Audio Input" before resorting to documentation and finding the editable list of inputs again under the "Browse" Tab.

Anyway, I did as you suggested. When I manually put the system in standby by 'turning off' the Apple TV 4K, the HDMI playback screen (I'm set to the warm spectrum analyzer that goes well with my power amp's VU meter simulation), remains for some time... I started this response before the (now still) HDMI EQ meter screen switched to my chosen Clock 'standby screen' to behave as advertised and almost as @Ultra1224 desires. Sadly, when I set the screen off for HDMI playback, and turn off the system via HDMI CEC using the ATV4K remote, the switch to Optical and the Standby Clock screen never lights up (in standby). Good Tip nonetheless!

Right now I'm fighting a separate HDMI-related issue (#562148 eventual stuttering on HDMI input). By briefly switching audio input to Ethernet and back to HDMI, the audio stream resets and eliminates the stutter - until it happens again. Now, this other HDMI-workaround sorta adds another input toggle button press to my first HDMI-workaround:cautious:.

To summarize, I want the Ulta to automatically detect inputs on startup, and when I’m done watching TV, I want the unit to go into standby and display the clock. While I’m watching TV, I want the display to be off.

Thanks for the help.
The current implementation of the "Screen settings" to disable the display ("Screen Display") is unfortunately flawed and illogical. There are workarounds but they are not logical either.

The correct implementation would have been to have a blank display as one of the playback screens. I have raised this to @WiiM Support (#561377). You should do the same.

Always best to 'keep it simple!'. The bla[n|c]k screen display option is such an easy solution to the 'screen off while playing' feature request... hopefully the now-oddly-tweaked-screen-related UI can get cleaned up too (but not as a gating item to releasing the 'blank screen' option(s)).

It worked when I checked it, but I might have made a mistake somewhere...

If the Ultra's auto-standby is set to 30 seconds, I believe the Ultra's input will switch to "Optical" in about 3 minutes once the TV stops outputting an audio signal.

Please try leaving the TV on and waiting for about 3 minutes without any sound. The Ultra's input should switch to "Optical," and the clock should appear 1 minute later.

Once the Ultra’s input switches to Optical, please turn off the TV. 😅😂
