WiiM Ultra - no sound through HDMI

My projector connects to WiiM Ultra through HDMI Arc. The projector is connected to a separate TV tuner/video player. Very often but not all the time I end up with no sound and the WiiM app showing "ARC not connected". If I disconnect the HDMI cable from the WiiM Ultra and then reconnect it, the issue is solved. Not too big a problem but annoying enough that I would like to avoid it. Any solutions ?

Have you tried the HDMI ARC Beta Testing firmware and the new HDMI settings? It may make a difference.

I have updated the firmware but I do not the see HDMI settings in the app.
There are no apparent changes: the projector is off and the HDMI ARC is shown as "disconnected" in the app (even though physically connected)

On the input selection you can control how the HDMI connection is handled.

My settings allow me to connect to the TV only when I select the HDMI input manually.

Please note that "HDMI mode" means that the HDMI ARC input is selected. And that "HDMI is Inactive" means that the HDMI ARC input is deselected.

Thank you. I chose "Use HDMI Audio Only in HDMI Mode" and Auto-sensing of HDMI (which was already on) but no changes.

Try the "Use TV ..." and then try to toggle the HDMI ARC input.

If that is not working, there is a fundamental HDMI CEC handshake issue with your ARC output.

I did that too but no changes. The only thing that work is turning the TV (projector) on, disconnecting the HDMI cable from Wiim and reconnecting it.

I don't have a TV. Just a projector with a TV tuner attached.
By the way, I changed the ARC cable to the hdmi cable provided by WiiM but the problem remained the same.

Have you tried connecting the tuner instead of the projector to the WiiM?
After all the tuner is the central part of the system.

Difficult. I also have an Amazon fire stick attached to the projector
AMAZON. Again.
I recently had an issue with Amazon (just the regular Prime) hijacking my Ultra.
I cannot proove it but my impression is that Amazon is responsible for the one or other problem on WiiM devices.

Cannot say. The firestick is attached to the projector (HDMI) and the TV tuner too (HDMI too). The projector has an ARC out which goes to the WiiM Ultra.
