More importantly, the VibeLink has measured significantly better performing when using digital input than using its analog input. I'd avoid the analog input in any way possible, in fact, because frankly, the analog input does not perform up to snuff for a $300 class-D amp nowadays.
It's still not clear if that rather mediocre SINAD measured by Amir is really a characteristic of the device or just something that he couldn't get rid of in his particular setup. The measurement is spoiled by hum in the first place. Definitely a point of some (minor) concern, but upcoming technical reviews might be able to clarify this.

Even if the RCA input performs better than measured at Audio Science Review I still see no convincing theoretical reason to prefer it over optical or maybe coax. As I said before, I didn't even take the time to evaluate both connections but went with optical straight away. At least I could not find any obvious deficiencies in sound quality when comparing optical out to the Vibelink Amp with analogue out to my other high performance TP325x based amp.

It's simply very, very good.
 
I don't dream of the differences between these two dac, consumer , mdg ,q2m serie, , probably just a revision ... and it s very attached to the quality of their implementation ;-)

So check the data... sometimes the engine of evolution in a range of this type is not always the quality... maybe the cost, the limitation in electricity consumption etc etc
 
The mini doesn't have a trigger out so If the vibelink will be 'hidden' away at all and the right rear (as you look at it front on) is not easily accessibly then turning the vibelink on may be problematic.

The 12V trigger on the Vibe will allow it to be powered up by an Ultra?
If wish to use the remote (volume) and streaming features of the Ultra and the better DAC in the Vibe, how would you go about that?
The Optical Input (and assumably the Coax Input) will have the existing Digital Input Sensing Auto-On / No Activity Delay Auto-Off that the other WiiM enjoy.

I didn’t put it in the bad implementation heap. There are plenty of much worse amps, even costing twice as much. The point is you have two options with the one amp and the better solution is right in front of you, so why use the worse one?

That depends on whether galvanic isolation is used or not (as @canard has been asking above). I don't know.

I tend to support the camp "jitter doesn't matter" with regards to the amount that could pile up here.

I guess if Amirm (‘cause I haven’t seen anyone else mention such) followed the usual advice to submit a ticket thru the more/feedback section of the WiiM Home app, WiiM engineering would be investigating “potential ground loops”. But I’m not holding my breath that he has 🤣🤣

I don't have access to Wiim Home if I can't find a machine... well... not really the subject... they were following his review anyway....
 
You would think he would have approached WiiM about the issue before publishing his test results, which incidentally were published before the embargo was lifted.

Really? That's a big no no.

I would expect anyone getting a pre launch review item to have on the spot help and assistance. He wouldn't need to go through a ticket system.
