Maybe the differences with calibrated files would be minor and not worth the effort…
They certainly look for the biggest gain for the buck…

It wouldn't be minor above 4kHz for a lot of mics. Compared to all the other calculations involved adding calibration seems straightforward.

The biggest effort might have to go into protecting the app from malicious uploads.

Many different applications have no problems with the .txt file. Example is REW, which many people write about here, Housecurve and many, many others. Somehow their programmers are not afraid and everyone uses it.

Do you want WiiM to implement the cal file import feature (like I do) or do you want to tell them how to do it and how easy it is, because some other app (totally regardless of the underlying operating system) has done it before?

Exactly. I would like Wiim to implement import of calibration files. That's what I mean. You are the one who writes about some theoretical problems with infected files. I would like to end strange discussions, as if there was some huge opposition to these files. There are constant doubts and inventing problems. Technical issues are on Wiim's side. They have talented engineers and they want to sell their products. Is there a problem with that? Those who want to use it will. Those who don't want to, don't have to.

I'm not talking about "theoretical" or even "invented" (how ridiculous) problems, I'm talking about real world problems real world software engineers have to deal with, every day. And please don't tell me when to end a discussion, OK?

What do you think why WiiM did not implement a means to import cal files, yet? Will you take the time to answer this question?

Looking back at some of your other posts you haven't always displayed this tact. Here is just one example.

Normally, company would invest the time, effort and money where it make sense to its user based. For instance there were big request and demand on room correction and wiim invest the time and effort. If only handful of user wanted a feature, it will be put at the back burner or never implement at all. Because providing a feature set required time and money not to mention a talented skill to implement it.

Yes but importing calibration files is a way to improve room correction if someone wants to go higher than 4kHz. Improving Room Correction is on the road map which probably means fixing RC using L/R PEQ but possibly includes adding cal files

The features that I like the most was rc, pregain, balance and the most recent 2 toggle on sub. My next important features that I’m anticipating would be independent peq, auto timing and usb that will work with sub.

Hi everyone, I signed up for the Beta a while ago, I would like to exit the beta now. I saw that there are new firmware updates for Ultra but I am not receiving updates. For now the app shows me as the installed software version 5.2.628557 of 20240906. I read here on the forum that if you have requested access to a Beta then it will not be possible to update to the new firmware until you request to exit. Is this correct? Can anyone help me?

If you click on the firmware in Device Info it should give you the option to leave the beta.

@Flatron7, If it doesn't (usually if the firmware version doesn't include the text "(beta)", just send feedback to WiiM through bthe WiiM Home App (Settings => Send us feedback) and let them know that you want to leave the beta programme.

I want to share my experience, maybe it will help someone. I bought used speakers. In our country it is difficult to find good speakers inexpensively. Unfortunately, they were very different in characteristics. As a result, the stage was not clear. The instruments were thrown around the stage. I understood that this could be corrected with an equalizer. But nothing worked manually. As a result, I turned off the right speaker and made an adaptation to the room. I wrote down the data that was obtained. I repeated this by turning off the left speaker. Then I entered the equalizer data separately for the right and left speakers. The result was excellent. The stage became clear.
