This is what I understand from this statement.
On august, tidal connect won’t support high resolution loseless?
Tbh, I expect a similar statement from Spotify when they eventually release their hi res offeringSame here. Seems to be cropped at 96. Opened a ticket on this at Wiim Support, but dont really expect a response.
Edit: Feedback from Wiim support
We don't support Tidal hi-res flac at this moment, we got below information from Tidal.
At the time of launch, HiRes FLAC will be accessible on four clients, namely iOS, Android, Web, and Desktop. Please note that this initial release will not support Chromecast, TIDAL Connect or our API-integration which will continue to work in its current state. However, rest assured that we have plans to extend support for these formats in the second half of the year.
“I was sick and tired of everythingMy remaining life time seems to be to short to experience even the launch of Spotify Super Trooper
Once Tidal release the means whereby it can be supported, I’m sure WiiM will support it - their track record wouldn’t say otherwiseWhat about flac files 16/44 hi fi quality ( high at new version) instead of mqa cd files. Will you support it day one with tidal connect ?
That's great news. May I ask if it is giving you hires flac via Tidal Connect?I now have Tidal FLAC Hi Res on the app as well as MQA
If you don’t have a proper mqa decoder , mqa sounds worseQuite sure you will hear it immediately
Corr.: Everyone will hear it immediately. Otherwise it would not make any sense, would it?
About 6m tracks, or 6% of their catalogue according to this article. However, it’s a bit ambiguous as to how many are actually 24/192 rather than just not CD quality.Do we have any info on how many masters have hi res flac versions?
is that not answered in post #21 above?Does wiim app and firmware support hi res flacs using tidal connect ?
Okis that not answered in post #21 above?
I have hifi plus and smsl do200 mkii but I still have mqa display. Where’s flac file? I’m using tidal connect.
I'd have thought that would be the first mqa unfold.reports from WiiM users that they are getting up to 24/96 through the WiiM Home app
See comment #21 and other replies above - it’ll be a while before Tidal release support for that to third parties like WiiMI have hifi plus and smsl do200 mkii but I still have mqa display. Where’s flac file? I’m using tidal connect.
