If WiiM made a CD Player...

What would the connections be like? Does the device come with two cables? Sorry, I'm too stuck on this, thank you for being so kind
No audio cables supplied, it is only supplied with usb power cable, you will need a usb A socket.
I use coaxial cable supplied with Denon and optical cable a supplied with Wiim Ultra.

But connecting it this way, is the wiim's dac the one that works?

That is super cool, I wish the Denon was a BD player as it would be even better yet for my use.

I will have to open up my great but low cost Panasonic BD and see if I could swap parts into the Deno chassis....

I just opened up my Panasonic 420 BD player, the mb and drive would be close but would fit into the Denon case:) I would have to redo the faceplate but might be able to do so without to much trouble if careful with it. It is a tray drive so I would look for a slot load drive from them that would plug into the mb.

That would be super cool sitting on my desk next to the Baby Sophia 10watt tube amp I have that is fully modded, push pull, about same footprint, very nice amp.

Then I just need anothere Denon to put my DAC into and have a triple stack......

The Denon DCD-50 CD player is an almost perfect match for the (silver) Ultra. It does require an output convertor though to use the Ultra DAC as the Denon only has a coaxial digital output.

I have a question: the DCD-50 does not only have a coaxial output.
It hast an analog cinch output, too.
If I use that will the DAC in the WiiM Ultra not work because the DAC in the DCD-50 already does this job?
And i guess the DAC in the Ultra is better and should therefore be used?

"If I use that will the DAC in the WiiM Ultra not work because the DAC in the DCD-50 already does this job?" --> Correct
"And i guess the DAC in the Ultra is better and should therefore be used?" --> Yes that's save to assume.

To be precise, the use or non-use of Ultra's DAC has nothing to do with the source device (input); Ultra's DAC is only used on the analogue output.

[When connecting from the Ultra's analogue output to an amplifier.]

1) When the coaxial-out of the DCD-50 is connected to the Ultra, the audio signal will only go through the Ultra's DAC. (The DAC of the DCD-50 is not used.)

2) When the Line-out of the DCD-50 is connected to the Ultra, the audio signal is digitised by the Ultra's ADC before going through the DAC. (And the DCD-50's DAC is also used.)

# In both cases, it also goes through Ultra's DSP.

So, (1) is considered to result in less A<->D conversion and therefore less loss in sound quality.
