We're thrilled to unveil a groundbreaking new feature coming soon for all WiiM devices: Vinyl Mode for Streaming.

We understand that many of you cherish the ritual and warm sound of vinyl records. But sometimes, life gets in the way, and you can't indulge in the tactile experience. That's why we've created Vinyl Mode, which simulates the quirks and charm of a classic turntable.

Are you tired of the perfect clarity and convenience of high-resolution streaming? Longing for the warm, authentic crackle of a vintage vinyl record? With Vinyl Mode, your WiiM streamer can now simulate the quirks and charm of a classic turntable!

Features include:
  • Customizable Crackle & Pop Settings: Choose your level of "authenticity," from a gentle hiss to an epic scratch that skips every other beat.
  • Warped Audio Simulation: Bring back the nostalgia of poorly stored records with realistic speed fluctuations.
  • Side Flipping Reminder: Your music will automatically pause halfway through, so you can experience the thrill of flipping over a vinyl.
We’re so committed to authenticity that we’ve even partnered with leading vinyl enthusiasts to ensure the perfect blend of frustration and fondness.

Note: If you're hearing too much crackle, make sure you clean your mobile device screen carefully for the best sound quality.

Oh, I'm so looking forward to this! Now I don't have to play my old records anymore. Bringing out the bubbly!

Project make a box that is supposed to clean up vinyl on the fly. Not an April Fool thing.

I had that on one of my very first albums on the track Baby Driver on Bridge Over Troubled Water - I then found myself listening to it on the radio and anticipating the same click 🤣

That's the beauty of vinyl rips. If you can get it to play somehow and then remove the resulting click you don't need to worry about it any more. Still takes a while before the stuck groove anxiety dissipates 🤣

One of the very first albums I ever bought was Best of Cream - the one with the vegetables on the cover. I played it to death with the result that when I hear any Cream track that is on it I expect to hear the next track played to be as per that album.

By coincidence I needledropped the original vinyl copy earlier this week and found that there is serious audio loss in two or three places. Fortunately I have a 180g copy as well.
