Amazon US now showing available for what is essentially a pre-order, with estimated arrival of December 16-January 21. Wonder how many unit sales Wiim ends up losing because of the government shutdown and resulting delay in the approval process cost them. Has to be frustrating for them missing the big holiday shopping season due to something unforeseen and completely out of their control.

What‘s with the wall brackets?
As long as they come together with the white Sound I‘ll be happy, but without them I‘ll be bummed. I‘m not inclined to produce a wall mount myself, which I could but … naaah … no, not in the mood.

Nope. The speaker, the mains cable, the lite remote and batteries for it. Picked up two on Saturday, no wall mounting in the boxes.

Are we talking WiiM Sound speakers?
I have 2, they both came with the WiiM Voice Remote 2, with integral rechargeable batteries, no way of opening the remotes.

Strange.

Sorry. Of course you are right. My mistake. I did not free the remotes from the little bag yet.

They come with the WiiM Voice Remote 2 Lite, which should not be confused with the entirely different WiiM Voice Remote 2.

Just checked it again. They came with the same black remote as my Ultra. With AAAs. The boxes were sealed, but I will have a chat with the dealer. But for me it is not important. I do not use it anyway.

Yeah, I'd certainly chat to the dealer. I'd also check if the boxes looked like they'd previously been opened...

Did it right now. The items were the first two they have got and taken out of the boxes for a photo shooting. Could be the wrong remotes came to the right boxes or vice versa. He offered me a discount and I accepted. As I wrote, the remotes will never be used. But thank you anyway 👍

I‘m not expecting them to be in the box, but want them as an accessory at least.

Did not even noticed any thread holes but I did not really look and can not swear. The speakers are already where they will be used. Only the packages are still here. Will have a look, but certainly another owner can give information.

Then they‘re not for me. Near a wall and wall-mounted is the only use I have for them.
If you use RoomFit, they might be okay wall mounted, but I don't use RoomFit, so can't have them anywhere near a wall.

I've never seen a smart speaker that comes with wall-mounting accessories. I believe they're usually sold separately.

Like most speakers they will work fine near a wall, but you'll need to run RoomFit once they are mounted to take care of the increase in bass due to half-space radiation.

When EQ (like RoomFit) is available, close-to-wall placement actually has two significant benefits:
  1. Reduction of SBIR nulls, as they are shifted to higher frequencies where the speaker is more directional
  2. Increase in bass headroom
Without EQ such placement is not optimal since the bass would probably get too boomy, as @QuarryHunslet suggested already.

Right then. I don‘t think much of RoomFit, but I will give it another try with the Sound. Else I will just take down the bass in the graphic EQ, no problem. But first I have to get it for Christmas.🎄😄
