Making the Ultra more ” Musical ” - easy external DIY

Not trying to imply that. It was just a tongue in cheek tangent.

That’s right because Ariston copied Thorens and good Ivor ran away with it or something like that.
really an ariston (rd11 from memory)... or to consider that thorens was the instigator of all the suspended turntables in the world... which I don't think ;-)
anyway... no problem not important
;-)

Thorens saw the small and light suspended AR turntable and created their TD 150 on that basis, The Thorens was expensive in UK but again easy to reverse engineer (again), but there was one before the AR too in the US. Not important, but interesting.

There may have been others with this suspended approach to the 150...before the 150...I don't know....it's not a patent either ;-)

Came to think of it: Putting an old turntable in front of the Ultra will sultent make it more «musical».
But now lets go back to the usual programming!

This is why I have connected the Ultra directly to my Magnat RV2 tube amp. Does this qualify?
PS: Using Netgear switches built before 2008 for Tidal HiRes streaming clearly adds warmth to my sound.
which network switches have you tried??

and you're comparing tidal to which other services??

7 Hz low Q resonance. I prefer the Korf way of looking at cart/arm resonant behavior anyway.
I use a Cambridge Alva Duo phono amp analog into the Ultra for the time being.

that s low...
The one that counts is the actual measurement, not the calculations...correlated to the measurement of what the turntable produces at low frequency...whether there is a risk of "hooking" or not ;-)
(The underlying idea of this fork was to try to avoid the turntable hanging "at the bottom"...and the disc defects at the top... we have the impression that it is forgotten for the benefit of magic numbers... but you confirm that a solution a little heavy for the ptg... ;-) )

but if you like it this way...that's the main thing ;-)

A Frenchman and a Norwegian discussing in English, haha.
It’s measured with the Hifi News test record. But as you know that is a flawed measurement for modern cartridges. Vertical «real life» behavior is what we should look at, and bearing quality is much more important than a theoretical high q spring resonance figure.

if you did it with this vinyl..I invite you to observe via a serious frequency meter...because there is a problem of correspondence with the voice... (and especially do not use the torture ranges to adjust the antiskating..!!! it is a huge "mistake" on this record...and even the most +15db is an error persisting since the end of the 70s... the delicate and fundamentally unmanageable subject...is antiskating ;-) )
