That is what I know about the 700. It is dated 2019, but this would confirm the device has a USB DAC.

Thank you for taking the time to post this information, much appreciated! I currently have a USB hard drive connected to the rear USB-A input and it plays DSD/DSF files just fine. My comment about the USB-DAC Asynchronous input and a USB-B input port. The M2 has it but not the M1.

Thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed. It looks like using coaxial might be the only option. Thought the Technics SL-G700M1 had a USB-DAC input but it's just a USB-A input. Have a feeling connecting the Ultra to the rear panel USB-A input of the SL-G700 is going to be problematic.

This is an English translation of the Japanese SL-G700 manual.
The front USB is marked for USB memory and the rear USB for HDD.
