Or, WiiM Amp Ultra II

With all the talk we have about amps, class A/B, D, Hypex, Purifi, TPA and ‚lastest state of the art‘, this SDA is sonically on par with all of them or even excells them, despite its design and technology being 10 year old. This includes its ‚stone age‘ DAC.
For me this goes to show that with mindful design class-D amps and DACs have reached the end of what we can hear.

I find this kind of re-ashuring and a relief. Now I can concentrate on features rather than on sound.
I agree, good sound is not a matter of what power amp module to use in the first place. Once in a while I'm tempted to buy one of those Apollon Purifi amps (I love the case work of the entry level series). But then again I simply listen to my TDAI-1120 ...

I have a TDAi-2200 and this is fully digital (although I have the analog inputs option card). I had an SDA-2200?! and it was analog input and then digital all the way to the output, thus the semi-digital ;)
The TDAI-2210 is a different concept by Lyngdorf. Technically this has little to do with the SDA-2400 by the same company.
An SDA-2200? Are you referring to the JBL SDA-2200? This is a completely different thing altogether and has nothing to do with ‚digital‘.

BTW, the only digital things on the Lyngdorf SDA-2400 are its digital inputs and the DAC.

Well, I have scratched this itch with the Apollon 1ET9040BA DM 😁. Beautiful, both aethetically and sonically.
It‘s currently just acting as a bystander. I‘m simply torn apart between my two lovelies😋.

Are you also using the TDAI‘s streaming unit?
I‘d be interested to learn how it compares to the WiiM concept.

Don't talk me into something stupid ... 😅

After most enjoyable months (!) of running the WiiM Amp Ultra in my main system (first plain into my Radiant Acoustics Clarity 6.2, later adding my pair of BW-2 subs, in mono mode of course) I finally switched back to my TDAI with both subs. I just used Lyngdorf's default configuration for this setup, entered the distances to all the speakers and ran RoomPerfect.

All this was fast and easy, using the new MyLyngdorf app. Finally I started this playlist using Tidal Connect (no Tidal integration into the Lyngdorf app) ... and I couldn't stop listening for hours, because it all sounded so incredibly good:

Remember, your Dynaudio produces 86 dB/W, resultung in theoretically 106 dB@100W (quite loud). Taking into consideraton crest factor of about 10 dB for Piano sound, peaks may easily cause distortion (clipping) at 96 dB already. Not a WiiM problem!
I would agree 100% with this, but the thing is that it was not quite loud due to the recording level. This afternoon (no siesta for the wicked ) I accidentaly how loud the Dyns + WAU can be. I run the SPL test in REW and, because I'm a total noob, I used volume 100 in WAU and 0 dBFs in REW and boy, that was loud!!! I had to jump to the WAU to pause it inmediately :ROFLMAO:

Sorry mine was SDA-2175 which is discontinued :)

This had only analog (balanced & unbalanced) inputs:

RoomPerfect is "just" awesome :)
