What products you'd like to see WiiM produce?

i tend to search the used market a lot and try to make this hobby as affordable as I can. For speakers I have the Rosso Fiorentino Volterra mkI, which is a 2.5 speaker design, closed cabinet woofer on the bottom and ported 2 way on top. I had to go to a small form factor tower speaker with no sub due to wife acceptance. Then I was able to grab the AGD Gran Vivaces for a steal, class D monoblocks rated 400w per channel due to the 6 ohm load of the speakers and that they are not very efficient. For music I listen to almost everything. Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Rollings, some classical and jazz and electronic music, mainly house and remixes from oldies

I see several posts about ideas of WiiM making high end amps, powered speakers, DAC's and etc. In my opinion, there are already many manufacturers that sell "state of the art" or "end-game" amps, powered speakers, and DACs.

I believe WiiM would be better off with focusing onto audio streaming devices (and good user interface / app) where WiiM is very competitive.

So, not disagreeing. But having a Mini standard DAC in there would add very little indeed to the cost, and would add functionality. i understand many saying they don't need a DAC, but it's so cheap to add, there's barely any point leaving it out.
In my opinion, it is not about the cost. I consider the analogue portion (DAC) as a potential source of electronic interference if poorly isolated.

I'd be happier with an amp void of controls, but instead a massive desktop remote control. Like in this case (it's a QUAD 66 PRE and its desktop system remote):

If brought up to date (touchscreen, jog wheel, buttons), utilizing Bluetooth and IR, this could be a killer feature! One even could add bindings with home automation.
Now, this got me curious, @Wiimer, why did you laugh?

Laughter needn’t represent derision, it can also express surprise or recognition, like “yeah, I fondly remember them too!”. In this case, the notion of a remote that large did strike me as amusing… :)

It wouldn't get lost down the side of the sofa 🤣

I think I understood that it was not made by a dedicated chip
As far as I understand, current WiiM products' DSP is limited in functionality / computing power - IIR filtering (GEQ, PEQ low pass, high pass) and time delay. I don't know if these DSP operation is done in floating point. In order to high end DSP operations (e.g. FIR), it needs a better hardware. Analog Devices' SHARC DSP's are considered the most widely used audio DSP chips.

I don't quite understand why there was laughter about the remote control proposal? :) Many people complain that there are only 4 selection buttons, me too.
The standard controller is average. I would like to see something elegant and practical on my table as an optional product. An example would be Devialet, and even the Chinese Fosi has a very nice device. This can be done, because in Wiim the control is Bluetooth, not IR.

Another suggestion is that Wiim should develop a uniform style for its products.
So that it is immediately obvious that it is a Wiim. Currently, each device looks different, nothing matches. It should be in such a way that when someone buys a Wiim streamer, they will want a Wiim amplifier and other Wiim devices. Despite the fact that there are many others on the market. Because when you put them next to each other or one on top of the other, they will have their own design and will match each other.
It is like an iPhone. It is just a regular phone but from a distance you can see that it is an Apple.
I gave an example of Chinese Fosi earlier. Look at the nice and uniform design of their new products. You can see right away that it's them. When you buy a preamplifier, you want their power amplifiers or headphone amplifier, everything visually fits and is nice. This is not their advertisement, I just tested their products and for now I don't trust their quality. That's why I'm giving an example. If such a small startup can do it, so can Wiim.

Back to design. I am an example.
I have Wiim Pro Plus, which has a good DAC, RC, output voltage regulation and can be a preamplifier.
I am looking for a power amplifier now, I will probably buy NCore, because people praise it and it is at a good price, matching the concept of good and inexpensive devices. I have already tested such a set and it was great.
But if Wiim had such a device visually matching WPP, I would not look for other manufacturers and I would 100% buy Wiim.

Do those remotes have presets?

I don't know about that. But it would be great if you could program functions. I would buy such a controller myself.

I'm guessing such remotes have fallen out of favour because if you want something that controls more and more devices, a tablet is the cheap solution that works.

Sort out WiiM Home for MacOS. Would love to use it in my MacBook Pro but it’s so unstable I give up. iOS app doesn’t work on the MacOS
