With mine KEF LS3/5A the Vibelink is not as cold as they say...
In fact I keep it next to the Ultra and not underneath.
but not a story of low impedance...because the subject is rather the opposite...an announced impedance of 11 or 15 ohms...

Ouch yes, low sensitivity and high impedance speakers like that need fairly high current when you want some volume. That gets many not so capable amps on their knees and will drive others that can do it warm/hot.

Small 13cm closed... BBC announced 25W admissible... with memory 82 or 83 sensitivity... so... ;-)
(which was not inconsistent with their original use...control bus regie... )

Yes, high impedance, low sensitivity.
The little bustards want a lot of current.
The Vibe can handle them, and i have seen many amps of various brands go into crisis, over the years and in many listening tests.

How does high impedance go with wanting a lot of current?

Not quite the point either... with these TI chips, it's the FR behavior when increasing frequency, etc., that poses problems with more impedances. The PFFB is there to delay the problem... without completely making it disappear...

PS I've often asked if someone curious could do a simple test under 16 ohms and not just 4 or 8 ohms... (not even a complex load)..

It's nonsense, knowing that, to test only at 4 or 8, when you know the number of circumstances where the impedance rises well above 8 ohms.
;-)

Goes that if you want to make them sound good you have to give them Watts.
The high impedance is not enough to compensate the very low sensitivity, and also the charge is very different and changes so you need quite a muscular ampli.
I've had them for 30 years, and I've owned also the same from Harbeth and Spendor. All the same...

Hi, Does anyone know if USB is an input for digital media (flash drive) or an output for a headphone DAC/amp?

The Ultra USB can be used for both digital media input (flash or hard drive) and for output to DACs. You will need a USB hub if you want multiple devices connected.

As others have confirmed: USB media and USB out.

The answers on ASR were spot on correct. ;)
