WiiM Home App v2.9.7 Update - May 13, 2024

This update also caused issues with changing the volume from the Spotify app. It works sometimes, but more often than not it is not working

What happens when you switch through the inputs on the remote?
As far as I know, there is now way of changing the inputs using the remote of the WiiM Amp. Let me know if there's any way of mapping the buttons to inputs

Please review the app update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

What's New:

1. 10-band PEQ: New Parametric Equalizer now available for WiiM Pro, Pro Plus, and Amp with compatible firmware.
2. Save up to 20 EQ Settings: Manage and store up to 20 custom EQ settings.
3. Improved Standby for WiiM Amp: Enhanced standby options now include 15 mins, 30 mins, and 1 hr settings.
4. General Enhancements: Performance improvements and bug fixes for an optimized app experience.
Thanks for the update, love the new 10 band Parametric Equalizer definitely helps with improving the sound quality.

You can change inputs with the remote control using the input select button above the number 1 button.

Hmm just iOS then. Android users obviously aren't worthy 😀
🤣 I think I maybe wrong wiim priority are apple product such as iPhone and iPad. I also have android based device but only use it when I have low battery on my iPhone just to get by while it’s charging.

I'm sure you are right even though there are more Android users...

Agreed, in fact there are more android devices than iOS. Android are available for whatever budget you have but apple product are expensive and people like to pay on their eco system for those who can afford them.

If I'd known WiiM were pro Apple I would have thought twice before buying 🤣

You remember when landscape was released on iOS? Android was left behind at that time and not sure if landscape is available now on android.
Of course I don't know when landscape became available on iOS and of course landscape is available on Android 🤣

As far as RC is concerned it looks like they bit their own butt so far by relying on Apple hardware. ;) Just not as reliable and easy to handle as some might have hoped for.

But I'm sure they're on the right track with the measurement part. Asking users to borrow an iDevice from a friend to do RC is so 2019 ...

Apart from that I don't feel like the Android development is notably behind iOS. Well, at least if you don't care for landscape mode. I don't. :p

Yeah, charging an iPhone takes it's time. Usually there's a new Rapid Security Response issued before you're done. :ROFLMAO:

This update broke the automatic switching for me, which worked perfectly before. Even if music is not playing via WiFi Streaming, the WiiM Amp still won't switch to HDMI when TV plays sound. This is very annoying since I need to change the input via the app, and can't from the remote
Hi letartap,

Please send a ticket using the WiiM Home App. Note that the input will only switch when there is no ongoing Wi-Fi streaming. Please try the following sequence:

1. Stop the music streaming and wait 30 seconds, or until the Amp goes into standby.
2. Turn on your TV.

Please check if it automatically switches the input for you.

Interesting. I have seen my amp switch to TV on the optical input while listening to an album using Squeezelite. I assume that is not meant to happen.

As @slartibartfast said, my WiiM amp just now auto-switched to Line-in during streaming. If this is not working properly, I think there is a issue with the new firmware.

@letartap,
Have you tried rebooting the WiiM device and making sure auto-sensing is enabled in the WiiM app?

I think I saw it happen on older firmware as well so not necessarily a new problem just an ongoing one.

I turned auto sensing back on for the optical input while the TV was on and just watched the amp go into standby rather than switch to the optical input.

I must have misread your post...

On second thought, maybe I just haven't encountered that problem because I use an Alexa routine to turn on the TV. (There is an action to stop the music before turning on the TV with the routine. And when it's time to return to music, the TV is turned off.)

I sometimes leave the TV on with subtitles.
