I'm having an issue where, while using Google Cast from SiriusXM, the Wiim Amp Pro becomes undiscoverable from the Wiim Home app. The Amp Pro is still playing my audio from SiriusXM, but my phone is unable to connect to the Amp Pro to change volume etc

Except WiiM/Linkplay and Audio Pro are two distinct companies.
Two distinct companies that decided to partner together to sell multi-room audio products correct?

Some of you guys seem to think that the casual customer wants to sit down and tinker with this stuff for hours on end and read into all the tiny details regarding features, compatibility, etc.... They don't, trust me. You start telling people that purchased the above speaker that it won't work with other Audio Pro/ WiiM products and it will lead to confusion and they will move to something else.

Some of us burned by the Sonos failure just want speakers that play together with a fully functioning app, that's it.. I don't care about room correction and VU meters, lol.... I just want my speakers to play together without technical issues, is it really that hard?

Yeah, they partnered to sell the WiiM Edition version of two specific Audio Pro speakers. That says nothing though about the vanilla non-WiiM edition Audio Pro range.

And you believe that the casual, simple, non-tinkering customers will take that detail into consideration down the road when making future WiiM or Audio Pro purchases? I don't think they will personally...

I wouldn’t consider reading a product description or seeking help before purchase as tinkering or non-casual, but it looks like we’ll have to agree to disagree on this…

it looks like an issue between audio pro and wiim. carried out on the shoulders of the customers. no good picture. and i am absolutely with the people who state that the 'normal' customer, not present in a nerd enthusiast forum, has no intention to dig that deep in spicks and spec(k)s. and has not to be. under no circumstances. easy to use is one of the selling points.

The 'normal customer' would not know that they were both based on LinkPlay anyway, so would not expect anything.

The Audio Pro WiiM edition will continue to be supported in the WiiM Home App, as far as I understood it.

It's too bad they have broken up but that is how business works. I would have liked to see all LinkPlay device working together. That is unfortunately not happening.

all fine. was told this forum has something like a 'loyalty wall'. seems to be true. no problem for me. i like people standing the rain! 😉 but trying to be serious. again. it is obviously more sun than rain with wiim.

Well I'm coming at this from two perspectives. I can sit for hours and read into all the details, research compatibility and fiddle around... If I try to explain this to my other half that doesn't care about these details at all, she's gonna say "why the hell don't these work together now???" And then tell me to just get another brand of speakers...

Regardless, in the end I will speak with my wallet and I can always sell all my Audio Pro (at al loss) and WiiM products and move onto another brand, ONCE again.... lol.

Your AudioPro speakers don't work with the WiiM app? An update should make it possible to connect to the WiiM app again.

No, as of now everything in my sig works together perfectly (but for how long???).

I guess the previous update the other day caused an issue with viewing Audio Pro/ WiiM edition speakers, etc... I didn't do the update (X Sonos user, never auto update) but there have been reports of problems.

And now WiiM is hinting at compatibility issues with the next Audio Pro W speakers"Unfortunately, Wiim support for the W generation speakers and how the new Audio Pro app works with Wiim product is still uncertain."

So once again, the customer is stuck trying to decipher through compatibility drama & product breaking app updates...

I think it is clear. The new Audio Pro W speakers will not work with WiiM. See post in thread 'WiiM Home App v3.3.5 Update – Sep 16, 2025' https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/wiim-home-app-v3-3-5-update-–-sep-16-2025.8143/post-148389

I suspect it was only standard Audio Pro speakers that didn't show up in the WiiM App. Why would WiiM filter out WiiM Edition speakers?

It's just about new products and less options for your future.

This is unfortunate, but I don't see it as a major problem. If you want to continue to use the WiiM app, you have no choice but to opt for the WiiM product. (This is normal in the first place..)

You knew from the beginning that the WiiM app is not an official app for AudioPro products. In other words, I think you knew there was a risk like this.

"However, it became obvious that the public unfortunately misinterpreted the phrasing “Audio Pro Multiroom, Powered by WiiM”. Audio Pro has therefore decided to stop using this wording in its communication, and will from now on, only use “Audio Pro Multiroom, Powered by Linkplay” or simply the Audio Pro W-generation app."

The funny thing is at the time I started getting into both of these brands I really wasn't confident about their partnership and the wording/advertisement of the them together, I believe I even commented about it on this forum or Reddit.

Oh well, lol....

Wiim products have been / are still being sold as "[compatible with] other devices which use Linkplay technology" e.g. 2:50ish in this vid pushing C3 Addons as an "add on" -

It's certainly a key reason why I bought into the ecosystem (via Richer Sounds!) Of course I am fully wired in the living room but I would be gutted to lose my C3s to the garden and kids' rooms.

Guess that might be rhetorical, but if not, WiiM won't filter out WiiM Edition speakers...

As I've said before, this compatibility is serendipitous but I don't recall it in any official WiiM product description
