I hope I don't have to start a new thread for this suggestion:

Would it be possible to give us more viewing options for the “Now Playing Screen” of the Homeapp? I would appreciate a black or blurry background. Some of the background colors created from the covers are really awful and hurt your eyes in dark environments, especially on larger tablets.

That would be very nice. Thanks.

You don't have to. If you're prepared for your suggestion getting by unnoticed. ;)

If you are searching for feedback to your idea from the community, then this would be the best sub-forum to start a new feature request:

If you're sure your idea is the best since the invention of sliced bread anyway and just remind WiiM of they forgot to implement, you can send feedback directly from the More... tab in the app.

While WiiM staff do monitor the forums loosely, this category is mainly for their announcements. This doesn't mean they will ignore our postings here. It's just about increasing your chances of catching attention. :)

The issue with RoomFit evaluation reported here appears to remain unresolved in Android app v3.3.10. When running the evaluation, the RoomFit profile is applied, but the EQ becomes disabled.

My ticket has been resent.

Apologies if this has been addressed in this thread, but I noticed that two features I used a lot have been removed from the Now Playing screen. It no longer shows the bitrate and the button to view the Play Queue has been removed. Is there any chance of getting those back?

For what streaming service?

Apologies, this was with Qobuz.
To my recollection, the Queue only appears when playing Qobuz on the WiiM app.
Using Connect or Cast does not display the Queue; this is common to all streaming services.

When playing Qobuz Connect why use WHA at all?

I wonder what’s driving WiiM to now offer options to turn off unused features - have they perhaps noticed they can cause CPU/memory issues that the current hardware might struggle with?

That would make sense but what if you are using them? Will you have memory issues?

I felt the same way.
It may not matter, but I've been noticing more peculiar behaviour from devices and apps lately.

Or perhaps they're trying to secure resources to ensure new features function properly 🤔?

However, the release notes state "reduce network load" – does this have nothing to do with CPU/Memory load 🤔?

I guess indirectly if they’re having to deal with unnecessary network traffic. Maybe makes the logic paths clearer in the code if they’re having can discount protocols the user isn’t interested in.

But would you be using multiple features at the same time or in different scenarios with the one device? Guess you wouldn’t be both a Lyrion and a Roon user so you might want to switch off listening for a particular type if you’re not interested in it.

True

True
I guess a more charitable or optimistic view is that being able to switch off certain features might clean up the logic paths in the firmware and allow it to skip sections of code that aren’t relevant to the device’s normal mode of operation and thereby make it more efficient and less prone to hitting cpu or memory limitations…
