WiiM Sound or WiiM Sound Lite -and WiiM Ultra connections?

Another thing... I'm running it with a 44,400 mAh capacity Halo Bolt ACDC that provides an AC socket with 120VAC/60Hz. It was fully charged when I started. After playing around with this for about 90 minutes, the power brick is down to 3 out of 4 bars.

So, I might have 6 hours of battery play...

Is there a big difference in power running WiFi, wired Ethernet, Bluetooth or wired AUX?

In any event, there is no way the FAA will allow me to check (or carry) anything over 27,000 mAh batteries. They sort of frown on things that might start a fire over the ocean.

WISH LIST.... make the speaker with a USB-C power connector. This will make the speaker lighter and it can then be powered by a multi USB-C charger. When travelling we take one )or two) big USB chargers ( 6 to 10 ports ) to power/charge our Chromebooks, phones, lamps, etc... We also take a couple of small dual/tirple USB-C chargers for our night stands. So we're already carrying the power supplies, Lord knows that if you could drop the weight of the speaker down to 1.5 Kg, it would help A LOT.

From the Sound manual, which you can get to from the More section in the wiim app:

IMPORTANT QUESTION... so,. it's OK to plug the speaker into a 240V/50Hz power in Western Europe? All I need is a simple plug adapter... like this...

I've used these for plugging my USB bricks and chargers... including my chromebooks.

I assume it will also work in Japan, huh? We did the same thing last fall...
That won't work in Japan.
For US products, you will need an adapter like this.

Actually, I had mistyped in my post.

Yes, we have something like that for Japan. Essentially you need a US style "cheater" because they don't have a ground in Japan. We have cheaters with USB outputs.

And for the EU we have the cheater plugs too... also with USB outputs.

So, it looks like all we need for travel in the EU and Japan is plug adapters for the multivoltage switching power supply in the WiiM designs.

Awesome.

Thanks.

PS- I have to be careful about shopping in Japan. We had to buy more luggage on the way back.. the duffel bags were too small. Donki and all of them artisan shops in Kansei are dangerous. We even brought with us two Okinawan Shisa and a Kyoto Shouki-san.. Plus kimonos, cloth material, ceramics, awamori, sochu... my daughter scored big on that trip because we bought a lot of stuff for her too... (actually we did our Christmas shopping in Kyoto), every day we'd do two temples (or more), on supermarket and a couple of hours of heavy duty shopping. And not at the tourist traps... heck no... we went to the local artisans... glassware, ceramics, lacquerware, etc...

We bought a chadubai when we got home... it just wouldn't fit in our luggage... Vide I show you what 100 kilos of luggage looks like. Actually I think it was more like 110 Kg... but the ANA people were very kind and did not charge us... they just put "HEAVY" labels and wished us a good flight.

Of course, we brought a bunch of Kit Kat chocolates.... Donki is indeed DA PLACE. I'm sure they got the cables.

Haha.
Donki is so fun.

The 100-yen shop "Daiso" is also popular.

If you come in spring, please enjoy the cherry blossoms.😊

Daisho is good.

We have Daisho stores in SoCal.

We also have the Tokyo Central supermarkets which are affiliated (owned) by Donki. The only place to find good sochu and awamori at reasonable prices.

In fact, we have both a Daisho and Tokyo Central within a 10 minute drive... we do A LOT of our food shopping at Tokyo Central.

I think a Donki store in the US would break ALL fire department code and rules.

In '27 I want to do the Mega Donki in Naha (Okinawa), Osaka (Dotonbori) and Shibuya. We'll call it the Tour Of Japan '27, Shogunates and Donki as opposed to the recent Tour de Japan '25, Heinan Mikado, Awamori and Sochu. Maybe we'll have a Tour in '28: 南から北へ... Naha to Kagoshima via Ferry and then Shinkansen to Sapporo.... exploring the local awamori/sochu and ekiben along the way.

Notable places to see:

Tottori Onsen Week
Visit Godzilla in Shinjuku wearing a Mothra t-shirt
Restaurant Ofuji in Ise... best ise ebi omakase in the World. Go check out the shrines and eat better than the Emperor.

Such a beautiful nation! A pleasant place to be.

I can tell you that we will be taking the WiiM Sound with us. Thanks! We'll play Black Sabbath in our Kyo Machiya in honor of Takaichi.

I didn't see any WiiM products at the department stores.

If we buy a place in Kansai (Shimogyo), I already have the audio set up: A WiiM Ultra, a Schitt DAC, a DIY Pass Nutube preamp with a pair of Pass DIY Zenductor 2 ( 10 wpc ) monoblock and a pair of Fostex FE103NV2 in the FF105WK ported cabs. Yes, as a matter of fact I have all the parts and it sounds great in a small room. I might keep the WiiM Sound in the bedroom. And of course, a 65" OLED from Kosutoko down in Yawata.
