WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.714249 - Apr 18, 2025

I don’t know when, but mine just jumped ahead to 5.2.713961 with an April 15 build date. Don’t think I ever even had the April 9 build on my Ultra, and there isn’t anything in the changelog about it yet. Seems a fix is on the way to everyone!

Seems like they're picking out some random guinea pigs again before releasing it into the wild ;)

I assume you're not encountering any issues so far?

Let’s hope this guinea pig survives. No issues in my limited use of optical this morning. I don’t use HDMI which I understand was the main problem with the last build.

Got a weird thing where my external optical input device which I know was set to 24/96 and was reporting as 24/96 on the Ultra is now showing 16/96 today. Will look into but want to flag in case anyone sees something similar.

There’s been some back and forth with 16 vs 24 bit on optical input. If it’s a 16 bit word on the 24 bit carrier it will show as 16 bit, at least it is so from my CD player.

Thanks. Will do a search for that discussion. My device is an ADC phono preamp (miniDSP Adept) that runs at 24/96 natively and I swear it was showing as that before but now has changed. Will double check everything here.

My Ultra has just received the update version 5.2.714747 dated 20250423.

It will come as no surprise to some forum members that the only feature that I’m interested in, DLNA Casting, still doesn’t work any better than any of the beta versions have done.

I thought I had been given a special version with working DLNA Casting, but sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case. 🙁

Following the recent firmware update for the WiiM Ultra, I noticed the new feature where audio via the TV’s eARC is only active when the device input is set to “TV.” However, I’m encountering an issue:

When I switch the input from “TV” back to “Ethernet” (in order to stream music from the internet), the TV still detects the WiiM Ultra via eARC, and as a result, it continues to mute its internal speakers in favor of the eARC output—even though the WiiM is no longer on the “TV” input.

It would be great if, when switching away from the “TV” input, the WiiM could temporarily disable or pause the eARC audio handshake so the TV could revert to its own speakers or another audio output.

Thanks in advance for your help and great work on the recent updates!

I don't know why, but he started to downdate 4.2.713543.
There is only fear...
