WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.714249 - Apr 18, 2025

Similar here, ultra currently on 5.2.714249 (20250418) but it's showing me there's an update to a lower version number 5.2.713543 with a later build date (20250424).
I pressed Not Now, but that won't stop it for long!

Edit: Strangely, when I click on that 713543 entry it shows
5.2.714249 (latest)
2025 04 24

I don't know why, but he started to downdate 4.2.713543.
There is only fear...
I rebooted and the update stopped.

DLNA casts seem to play fine.

However, when I cast to Audio Pro A10 WE and then restore the output, the Ultra volume stays in sync with the A10 and does not revert.

A10 volume: 26%.
Volume of Ultra: 90% -> 26%.

Does this work as planned?

My Ultra has just received the update version 5.2.714747 dated 20250423.

It will come as no surprise to some forum members that the only feature that I’m interested in, DLNA Casting, still doesn’t work any better than any of the beta versions have done.
Very strange, the same Ultra is now showing another “New firmware version found” this time it is version 5.2.714249, which is the same version that others have mentioned in this thread, but with a lower release version than the one I received earlier this morning. 🤔

It seems that the volume knob did lose a lot of its responsiveness.
It now frequently stutters during rotation, nothing similar seen before this update.
And yes, already did a full power cycle.

Rebooting the device might make it go away. Mine was able to operate WHA even though it was updating, so I rebooted it and that solved the problem.

I have just “Downdated” the firmware on my Ultra to version 5.2.714249 dated 20250418, and DLNA Casting STILL doesn’t work.🙄

Thanks. Will do a search for that discussion. My device is an ADC phono preamp (miniDSP Adept) that runs at 24/96 natively and I swear it was showing as that before but now has changed. Will double check everything here.
Ha! Just got an ADept yesterday. Set up to 24/96 it showed 16/48 on the Ultra and WHA. Will check again. New firmware just installed.

Hi Saponetto,

Please send us a feedback ticket so we can resolve the issue immediately. Thank you!

spotted the update, nothing worth doing just a couple of minor things with media player or something

  1. Smarter HDMI ARC: Your WiiM Ultra will no longer act as a TV speaker when not in HDMI mode—giving you more control. Learn More
I don't see what has changed since last version for the HDMI ARC/CEC.

The major bug that has been present since first release of the WiiM Ultra is still not fixed.

A TV that is turned on still "see" the WiiM Ultra CEC device when the TV is turned on, no matter how the WiiM Ultra input and HDMI CEC is configured. The results is that the TV always change speakers to ARC when it's turned on, even when the WiiM Ultra stay in standby.

My ultra now shows 5.2.714249 (20250418) so has gone 'backwards' and updated sometime in the last 3 hours since I said no.
Guess there's a glitch in the Wiimtrix.
It'd be nice if the details screen showed when the update was applied. A history would be even nicer!

Hi hgo50,

Please toggle off the 'Automatically output audio to WiiM when TV is on' option and see if it meets your requirement. Thanks!

It's off. If it was on the WiiM Ultra would turn on from standby and select TV input.
That part work ok.

The issue is when it is off. The WiiM Ultra is then still showing as online on the CEC. It should NOT show available, same way as it do when you deselect TV input.

This is a old bug that was actually fixed in a beta version (5.2.706937) 4 months ago but never made it to the main release.

Current update now loaded and running. Will check dlna options in due course.
The new update was offered onscreen, with option to ignore it or select it. Whether this is a new feature or not, I am glad to see it and to have that option.
Thank you Wiim.

Mine had 3 updates today, first time I have heard my TV speakers!

Tonight while listening to music with 714249 the TV ARC input came on with the TV off. Of course my Sony doesn't really turn off, but would be nice to be able to listen to music.

I am turning off "Automatically output audio to Wiim when TV is On" for now.

Everything possible is off on the TV and it is not online.

eARC/ARC is set to ARC, it was set to: Enhanced (Dolby Vision), I was thinking maybe try Standard, but reading this is only 1Mbps and I have seen higher bitrate audio than that. I'll try Enhanced.

is there an easy way to setup a manual switch from Ethernet to ARC?
