5.2.718554 (In Progress)

Release date:

5 / 30 / 2025

What's New:
  1. Pandora Thumbs Up/Down: Instantly like or dislike tracks from your WiiM Ultra (requires app v3.2.2+).
  2. Enhanced Display UI:
    • Access the complete BBC Radio station list seamlessly.
    • Fixed empty local radio station issue in specific regions.
  3. Dolby 5.1 Improvements: Support the center speaker and easily route .1 sub-channel audio to your subwoofer.
  4. Spotify Connect Continuity: Seamlessly resume Spotify playback after switching inputs.
  5. Upgraded Soundtrack SDK: Enhanced audio processing for superior sound quality.
Bug Fixes & Enhancements:
  1. Resolved playback freezing with large Deezer playlists.
  2. Improved sync and loop modes for LMS and Qobuz Connect.
  3. Eliminated unexpected playback stops on Qobuz.
  4. Reduced CPU usage during EQ adjustments and subwoofer output.
  5. Input switching order now matches WiiM Home app.
  6. General stability and performance enhancements.

Looking forward to this update. One thing I have been wondering is if it could eventually be possible to route the Center channel signal to the Sub output on the back of the Ultra. I will never use the wired Sub output on my Ultra, mainly due to placement issues (wireless Sub works better for me). Seems like an Ultra in a media console has all of the outputs for Left Right and Center. I can put an Audio Pro C10 WiiM Edition in there, but seems like overkill to use a wireless hop so close. Probably the wrong place for this discussion but I figured I'd bring it up.

What does "Upgraded Soundtrack SDK" mean and what does it exactly do?
It refers to the Soundtrack service, which you are probably not using.

Soundtrack obviously published a new SDK (Software Development Kit) possibly supporting changes to the Application Programming Interface (API) and/or new software libraries.

I won‘t lose hope that there is an update coming which enables me use my Platin Hub lossless via DLNA. (One less cable) But it seems out of reach. Up to now there is permanent stuttering when try to use it.

Have you submitted a bug report via the more/feedback section in the app so WiiM can inspect your device logs for the cause?

Yes, I actually have done that in April but I somehow never received a reply. Maybe imy report wasn“t submitted.

Check out WiiM to see what 100 to 200 Euro / USD devices from the competition have for VU meters (and spectral analyzers).

I don't just want to be able to choose between poorly made and poorly made in a different color.

It can't be that hard, can it?

Is there any documentation on "Support the center speaker and easily route .1 sub-channel audio to your subwoofer"?

I found some passive speakers I like, but they may not have a matching center. the Ultra is L+R stereo output.

I still have my old Wiim Pro.

being able to set the center level in the 2-channel domain would be excellent. would rather not bother with a center speaker if possible.
