5.2.723250 (In Progress)

Release date:

7 / 15 / 2025

What's New:
  1. Smart DNS Enhancement: Improved Smart DNS behavior by checking the legitimacy of the DNS server returned by the router.
  2. HDMI ARC Upgrade:
    • Eliminated pop/crackle noises.
    • Added Auto-Sensing for instant TV-audio pickup.
    • Improved the stability of ARC connections.
  3. Advanced Parametric EQ: High-Pass & Low-Pass filters now available (App v3.2.6+ required).
  4. Deezer: "Play Next / Play Last" options added.
  5. Bluetooth: Adjustable latency for perfectly synced audio.

Bug Fixes:
  1. Soundtrack Pairing: Fixed an issue preventing successful soundtrack pairing.
  2. Gapless Playback: Fixed an issue causing incomplete audio playback.
  3. USB Indexing: Corrected the extraction of PNG format covers from MP3 files and fixed a crash issue that caused playback to stop.
  4. Qobuz Connect: Fixed an issue where playback would automatically resume after pausing when using USB output.
  5. Phono Input: Resolved a no-sound issue when editing input mode via the app.

That's rather a bizarre concept, you should give them instructions to use the correct remote controls for each item.
I strongly disagree.

While you can connect external speakers to a TV in several different ways, HDMI ARC is an undeniably convenient one when it works well.

People are well within their right to ask for it to be implemented correctly and flexibly if it is offered by a device, rather than having to invent workarounds.

By the way, I had almost no issues with HDMI ARC with my WiiM Amp Pro and (older) Samsung TV. Very convenient!

You are perfectly entitled to disagree.

HDMI ARC doesn't offer me any benefits, and would be very inconvenient, in that it would require a HDMI port on my TV, which in my case, all four of them are all already in use for other devices.

Hi,

Just received the update. In which menus and where can one use the LS / HS filters and what has changed with “advanced EQ”?
I couldn’t find it, sorry… 😔

Under peq, if you have rc enable which use PK you can click on that to change LS/HS or customize your own.

These are interesting. Even with Q=0.1, there's an odd peak.
Yep, that's odd and doesn't make sense.

It should be quite easy to measure what's happening in reality with the Ultra, but I don't have it here with me. I'm too lazy to even try this with my WiiM Amp Ultra.
Not only that my Ultra was downgraded, all my PEQs are gone 😞
Why did you tap on Upgrade in the first place?

I wasnt before the failed Update to the latest official Version. And why was my Version downgraded, even if it was a Beta at this stage?
As far as I can see, that’s currently the only beta for the Ultra which is a few months old. Take the option of leaving the beta and it’ll hopefully replace it with the latest public version.

Alright, I don’t normally go about butting heads with moderators, but in this case I feel the need to make my point: my wife, kids, and mother in law have a desire to have simplicity and not have to deal with the clutter or complexity of multiple remotes. I can:
A) be some pretender to the fictional house throne and tell them sod off this is how you will do it, or
B) try to accommodate their wishes by trying to be the considerate husband/father/son in law that I strive to be

And ARC functioning correctly would go a long way towards achieving this goal (B)

You are perfectly entitled to give in to your family members, and I won't judge you for doing it.

A brief test of ARC was carried out on an Amp Ultra to IFFALCON (TCL) TV. As long as I always used Ultra speakers, no problems occurred.

Auto-sensing : on
Automatically..... : on

Playing Spotify during TV playback switches to music, stopping the music switches back to TV. Switching on the TV while music is playing switches to HDMI.

Auto-sensing : on
Automatically..... : off

If I switch on the TV while music is playing, it does not switch to HDMI. If stop the music and play the TV, it switches to HDMI. I can use the WiiM TV app with this setting without any problems.

Auto-sensing : off
Automatically..... : on

Stopping Spotify does not switch the input back to HDMI. Switching the TV off and on again will switch to HDMI.
The Automatically TV is on toggle on the WHA is greyed out.

Auto-sensing : off
Automatically..... : off

The input never switches to HDMI.

In either mode, sound will come from the TV speakers if the TV is switched to the built-in speakers.

There is no ARC audio delay.

#This is a short test. It may be that...
I may have missed something somewhere.

Note that if the TV's audio output is switched to the built-in speakers, sound will still come from the TV in that mode.

There is no ARC audio delay.

What about the case described in comment #40 ?

Don't your TV change to ARC (external speakers) or are ARC always on, as it is on some TVs?

Does anyone know if the Advanced Parametric EQ only works when the Wiim Room Correction is used?

I interrupt high and low pass EQ as being able to EQ the subwoofer and now I'm not sure.

What else should i've done? See my post #26.
You could have selected "Nicht jetzt". ;)

But this is not the point. As @Burnside pointed out you can enter and leave beta firmwares as you like. Just check the Device Info page. If it doesn't work as expected just send feedback through the WiiM Home app.
