Hi Guys!
I bought Wiim Ultra and pair of active speakers with integrated amps.
Think to order now REL T7X subwoofer, but I found in manual that they highly recommend to connect the sub as an inactive speaker for best quality. Screenshot from manual attached.

Anyone tried to connect such sub to Wiim Ultra? Which connection method you use? How is the quality?

I’m thinking that maybe it will not perform as well as it should if just connecting through sub out on Wiim and then maybe not even worth to overpay for this nicely sounding sub and just order something a bit cheaper.

Try moving the speakers around, more into corners, or further from the wall, try both sides of the wall either left/right wall or back wall front/side placement.

Make sure windows and doors are closed also that effects low end
Yeah, already tried. Moved the speakers as away as possible from the back and side walls as possible (attached). This way it is better, but the dip is still there..IMG_7364.jpeg

As I understand it, if you have a null say at 50hz you can then cross your speakers to above that ie 60hz to where the speakers start dropping off then get a subwoofer and set it to around that point also, then play around with sub placement and sub phase.

Here is what adjusting phase does on the combined left speaker + sub response.

So once you get the sub, either use the wiims alignment tool, or do it manually. Probably best to do before/after, and various sub locations and phase.

As you can see phase effects several locations along the total response, boosting some, canceling some others.

Hi Guys,
Is it very bad idea to place one speaker on the sub? At least till they will produce me new bookshelf..

Some people do use subwoofers as speaker stands, you'd obviously need two- and want to work out if speaker ontop of sub will result in the correct height- so you need to buy the correct height sub. ie if you need a tall sub there's this

It's OK unless you already have a pronounced null and want to add a sub to counteract that. In this case, placing a sub in virtually the same position as one (or better both) speaker(s) won't buy you nothing. :)
Already ordered JL Audio D108, it was a too good deal to pass. It will be arriving from Korea, hope works out fine.)
