😁

For the uninitiated, with Brexit, upon leaving the EU, parliament passed a law saying we were keeping all the EU's laws (introducing them directly into British law) unless we specifically changed them.

I'm not sure the Allowance of Banana Plugs in Hi-Fi Equipment 2029 white paper has been published yet. ;)
I'm not sure Banana Plugs was a top priority for PM Bedhead.

very secure...retractable insulation when inserted...
or same in laboratory use
;-)

Nice, but overkill for passive speakers.

for those who tinker, do lots of tests of speaker cables, blindly and clumsily behind their amps etc.. it can sometimes help not to blow transistor rails by short circuit ;-)

it doesn't only happen to others...

One of the photos showed two of the speaker terminals as 'banana holes' and the other two with a cap on them, possibly for bare wire connections?
Or was it just perspective??
I'll have to find it again.

Edit: post #134
I have seen similar configurations with the Cambridge Audio One before.

In the case of CA, banana plugs did fit directly. If you wanted to use spades or bare cable ends (instead of doing it the right way 😈) you had to use an adapter with a banana plug on one end and a binding post on the other. Very similar to the grounding plug for the WiiM Ultra, indeed, as already mentioned by @Steve Woodhouse.

Too bad the volume knob doesn't have an LED indicator. You won't be able to see the volume level from the amp. However, if you use the Ultra to set volume instead of fixed output, you can see the volume level on the screen.

Yuppp

I feel like this thing is trying to be too many things at once: a power amp + a (not very versatile) integrated amp - without remote control.
It’s got a remote control and all I can see it wanting to be is an amp with analog and digital inputs that will match up with anything from a Mini to an Ultra. Not an unreasonable aspiration imho. Sometimes I think we get too hung up on names - is it a power amp, a pre-amp or an integrated amp? Personally I don’t care and that’s maybe why they called it something relatively anodyne like vibelink…

I known there's pictures going around of a new-ish aluminum remote, but has it been confirmed to work with the amp? Having the 4 preset buttons makes little sense for the amplifier. Unless maybe it was a prototype remote... But then the volume control would have to be motorized.

I was thinking the same. More likely a new version for the pre-amps.
