If you're hesitating so much between the wiim and Fosi mono...simple.....buy a 3e A5... ;-))
Thanks but they only seem to be available through Aliexpress here, which I'm not keen on. Plus for some reason the pictures have a different label/name (Soyyin?) to the units I've seen reviewed. I'd rather spend a bit extra and be more confident in the product.

The manual says it is full brightness when on and half brightness (not off) when in standby.

"In standby mode, the LED light will dim to half brightness. In sleep mode, the LED
light will turn off."

I just got home and checked the vibelink, and the led is off.
I'm wondering whether the ultra woke itself up shortly before I checked this morning.
i.e. ultra woke up, ultra is set to go to standby after 1 hour, vibelink waits another 30 mins.
Maybe I just timed it well (or badly)?

Hi Mr Ee, Team

Please update the Vibelink firmware using the WiiM Home App. Simply move your mobile phone close to the Vibelink Amp, and the app will automatically detect the device and begin the update process.
Give it a try, and let us know if everything works smoothly!

How do you find the Vibelink's overall performance and sound compared to the v3 monos (I'm particularly interested in this as I've also been considering the v3)?
And I could be completely misunderstanding your point about gain etc (as I'm still learning about this stuff), but I thought that the v3's measured performance was a fair bit better with xlr than rca input? Or am I mixing up gain with power/noise performance?
Generally speaking, the V3 Monos, VibeLink, and 3e A7 are all neutral and transparent enough that, if comparing blindly with volume level matched, you would not be able to consistently pick one out from the other.

Did you make this direct comparison? Under what conditions? On what types of music? etc...
thank you

Done that, update applied. I'll see how it behaves over the next couple of days.
Took me a moment to remember I had to enable bluetooth for this to work!

However, when I use the 'power' button for the vibelink within the Devices screen to turn the amp 'off' I get a pop through the speakers.
Same volume pop regardless of vibelink volume setting.
Doesn't happen if I use the physical button on the back of the vibelink to turn it 'off'.

I don't own the 3e amps, only the VibeLink and Fosis. I think the differentiator among these products is feature set, price, and aesthetics, other than power. The VibeLink, if you own a WiiM Ultra, has the best aesthetics for the money. If you need more power, there is the IOM Ultra (which I've also owned). If you want to save money and/or don't care about the looks, go with the Fosis or the 3e A5 since they would be cheaper than a VibeLink, and the V3 Monos provide more power than the VibeLink, too. Personally, I find the 12V trigger indispensible, and the 3e amps don't support 12V trigger, and this is my main reason for disregarding their amps entirely. Let me know when 3e implements 12V trigger and I'll be interested. There are also other options for very little money, much cheaper than any of the above, if you don't need 12V trigger, Douk A5 comes to mind. All of the amps I mentioned feature neutral/flat (in the audible band) frequency response thanks to use of feedback, and they all have very little distortion.

Hi Mr Ee,

Thank you for testing it out! The feature does require Bluetooth for communication. As for the pop noise, I’ll bring it up with our team—we’ll look into applying the same handling as we do for the physical button.
Stay tuned, and thanks again for your feedback!
