Right, for me (and I want to stress that bit) I'd have been tempted by a unit the same size as the Ultra, trigger in, black glass front, pure (old school) power amp, if it had measured as well as the other power amps out there with which it's in competition.
...
The only thing here that's missing with IOM Ultra is your black glass front.

And maybe a price issue. That probably more than anything for most people.

I think for me the biggest issue is that I already have an amp. Mine doesn't 'match' the Ultra as such, but how it looks really works for me.

It's better-specced in every way than the Vibe, apart from power, but my amp has more than enough power, so that's actually a non-issue. It's also cheaper.

But if I were buying an Ultra & amp today, and I had a larger room and needed more power, I might be tempted.

Just one more daft thing, which effects me, but I'm sure very few others. My Ultra is on my desktop, underneath a riser on which I place my PC monitor. The Ultra is 7.2cm tall, the Vibe is 6.3cm tall, the gap from my desktop to the underside of the riser is 13cm, so that's a non-starter anyway.

Yeah, I don't have enough headroom above my Ultra either which is a pity - unless I decide to put the Ultra on top of the shelf it's on, rather than under. However, I don't like kit out on display like that as there's not the same hiding space for the cables..

There is another thing with the looks of the Vibe.

You know if you buy a dark blue sofa. You can't just go along 2 months later and but a dark blue armchair to match, because they won't. If you want them matching you need to buy them at the same time, same range. If you don't do that, you're better off buying a completely different, non-matching armchair, because it'll look less odd than one that's almost the same shade of dark blue, but not quite.

The Vibe looks like this for me. It's clearly supposed to match the Ultra, but it's just a bit off. And that's more jarring than one that's quite different.

Personally, I don't know what's.the benefit of calling something an integrated amp missing features when you can also call it a power amp with extra features :), but this ...
Correct: Set them Side-By-Side and the Ultra is TALLER. Set them Vertically-Stacked and the Knobs don't Align.
... Is the part I don't get. Why didn't they make it a better fit for the Ultra? It cannot perfectly match the Ultra and the Pro/Pro Plus at the same time anyway, so some decisions must be made.

It almost looks like the position of the volume knob might match that of the Amp/Amp Pro when stacked, but that doesn't make any sense, because not only the footprint is different. There's also no sensible way to connect them.

Fosi would probably make 5 slightly different amp models from the ingredients of one Vibelink Amp ... :P

A two channel poweramp is something like this. They basically have a power switch

Nothing else.
Definitions are made by human beings. And they are prone to change as times are changing. :)
