Anyone know if it will be possible to connect to a TV and use two speakers as a front R/L?

That is a feature that would really appeal to me.

You'll need one of the WiiM devices with an HDMI Arc input to get the audio signal from the TV to start with. With the current software, that device acts as the front right and left channels, and we've got some beta software where you can add a center channel wirelessly. Then the WiiM Sound can act as surround left and right.

We've heard some requests about adding the WiiM Sound as the front right and left channels as well, which isn't currently available but the team is looking into it. So this might come in the future.

Thanks Ryan.

I have been interested in buying smart speakers in the past but I have always been put off as (the ones that I have looked at) can’t be used as front L/R speakers. If WiiM Sound had that capability I would very quickly part with my money.

Do you know yet when these will be available to purchase in Australia, and is there any price estimate at this stage please?
The best estimate I have on time right now is Q3 2025, and no, we're not quite ready to share price estimates yet.

@WiiM Team - Are the two balanced mode radiators fed different left and right signals when a single WiiM sound is used?

What's the crossover frequency to the 4" woofer and how are the BMRs positioned in the enclosure?

Yes.

The crossover point is around 2.5 kHz. The two drivers are positioned at a 90° angle to each other, each angled 45° from the front center. Hope it clarifies.

Thanks for clarification. I had originally expected a somewhat lower crossover frequency, but that was probably a little naive.

I could dig this if it were battery operated, so i could take it outside with me.
With a long enough outdoor power cable, many things can be made portable :)

But I'll pass along the request for something battery powered. The WiiM Sound isn't recommended for outside use in general, as it's not weather protected, so that'd probably be on the list for such a product.

You probably wouldn't take it outside if it was raining 🙂
