Could you please tell me all the group configurations, the leader device, and the devices that are not producing sound?

In my case, it appears to be functioning correctly, but I shall test it with the same group configuration as yours.
Group 1 - lounge led

Master device - WiiM ultra lounge

Other devices
Wiim amp ultra office
WiiM sound kitchen

Group 2 - office led

Master device - WiiM Amp office

Other devices
WiiM ultra lounge
WiiM sound kitchen

If I select either group in Spotify connect, sound is played from both WiiM amp ultra and WiiM ultra, the WiiM sound doesn't play. If I go to the WiiM app, it shows the two speakers grouped with WiiM ultra sat alone - it in the groups tab when I select it, I see all 3 devices in each group

Not tried since firmware update yesterday so will check this morning

Thanks for letting me know.

I tested by creating two groups with the same device configuration as yours.

Switching between Group A and Group B worked successfully. Sound was output from all devices, and the display on the WiiM app was also fine.

If the issue persists, please try rebooting the devices and clearing the app's cache.

Are you switching via Spotify connect, with the speakers not an active group on WiiM app already?

Starting cold I have all 3 devices ungrouped

In Spotify I select one of my 2 groups which contains all 3 devices

No playback on WiiM sound. Checking the WiiM app I see playback on 2 Devices grouped and WiiM sound on its own

I have just tried to delete the groups and create afresh , as I added the WiiM sound to these existing groups, but I get the same behaviour with the new groups.

I just created two wiim groups
1) Two Pros and a Sound. One of the Pros is leader.
2) Amp Ultra and a Sound. Amp is the leader.

In Spotify, chose one then the other group.
The Sound played music each time, and wiim home app screen showed the right devices grouped.

For now I can only echo / expand slightly on @Wiimer's advice - power off the Sound for a minute, try again, and send feedback from the wiim app right after it doesn't work as expected.

Yeah, I first played Spotify using the Amp Ultra on its own.

Then I connected to Group A.
The WHA device card has 3 devices and it is normal.

Then, when I switch to Group B, I see the same 3 devices with the reader device switched. Everything is fine.

That's rather odd..
Please delete all persistent groups and try recreating them again.

@Asheashe
Spotify app may be connected to an old persistent group. Please recreate the persistent group in the WiiM app, change the group name, and ensure you are connected to the new group.

Yeah I've re-created the group from scratch with a new name, old groups disappeared and new group there and same behaviour

Force app closures, device reboots, device power-downs, all firmware up to date

Hmm, sorry I can't identify the cause..

Does the result remain the same when setting WiiM Sound as the group leader?

Also, Spotify Connect to WiiM Sound is functioning correctly, isn't it?

Yes Spotify connect working fine directly to WiiM sound and if I add it to the two speakers already playing it groups fine and all in sync

I haven't tried it as group leader as it's not a device I would want to be leader of the group (due to how WiiM handles volume controls) but looking at now and it behaves oddly also - all 3 speaker sets end up playing the content but not grouped

Edit; 2 mins later checked again and it had grouped them all

Switched it back and tried WiiM ultra leader again and same behaviour as before and waiting doesn't make it form the group like it does with the sound as the leader - and it shows no content playing on the sound

It appears you will need to have the support team check your device logs.

Just to confirm, your Ultra does have the latest firmware installed, correct?
If the beta version of the "Input Sound Profile" firmware is installed, that may be causing the issue.

Yeah all latest versions of firmware, no beta firmware. I've sent logs off to be reviewed 👌🏻
