RCA ports a bit fragile?

The plugs are not blocking each other, are they? If you plug in the left one first it still sticks out a little?
I tried to make two attempts but the left side always remains behind, however everything works perfectly, so I don't touch anything anymore!

Same issue here. My older cables fit in every contact except one of the line outs. I tried a bit too hard, and now the contact is a bit loose. Worrying. Is this a valid reason for a return/exchange?

The Neutrik Rean RCA connectors are a breeze to work with, also on the Ultra, making a proper connection without excessive force.
My Cordial CFU CC rca cables which are made the way an RCA cable should with a single conductor plus shield, use those. They come in pairs in 0.6, 0.9, 1,5, 3 and 6 m lengths, black or white cables and connectors.
Thomann distribute world wide.

Great cables, great RCA connectors. (y)

A very sensible choice.

Changed the cables connected to my Ulta RCA out. On powering up I had a massive buzzing sound. I think both channels Turned everything off and checked connections. It appears that ground on the ultra has separated from the pcb on both channels

Sorry to hear that! I hope WiiM stops using those deep-mounted connectors on the next streamer, so that no such things happen anymore. Too many needs to use force to get their 3rd party cables..

The choice to use pcb-mount rca jacks cheapens the product. I know it's built to a price but there are better jacks that are still cheap.
WiiM put so much thought into a cool case... It's a shame they didn't put as much thought into quality connectors.
Wouldn't this eliminate all the complaints?

Do not destroy your Wiim product with unsuitable connectors.

Good tip, but it should’nt be necessary to buy new cables.
The WiiM Ultra comes with fitting cables. You don't have to buy new ones.

I still don't see how plugs that don't mechanically fit the case recess could destroy the (admittedly cheap PCB mounted) RCA sockets. Either they fit sufficiently to make contact (in that case it's just a matter of how much force you apply plugging them in) or they don't fit (in which case it should be impossible to push them in too far).

My suggestion to those prone to disconnecting and reconnecting these suspect RCA connections is to find and install suitable short extensions. The additional strain relief will extend the life of the OEM connections.

Many years ago I bought a recommended RCA cable from Tandy or Laskys and it was so tight it pulled off the outer part of my amplifier RCA sockets when I tried to remove it.

Testing the fitment of the male connector with the female end of another cable might prevent this or other similar damage.

If that's true, I have a box of old cables that proves I'm the exception rather than the rule. Not the first time or circumstance.
Somewhere I have an adapter cable RCA to 3.5mm which has female sockets, no idea where it is though.

As shown in this thread not all male RCA connectors are sensibly made. I have some overly tight ones in my cable cardboard box of shame.
(RCA is a pretty bad connector standard, but it’s what we have in hifi. It migrated from the USA to Japan and thereafter swamped the European DIN standard. It’s what sells most that wins.)

What is evident to me in this thread is that close tolerances are not always respected. If undue force is required to make a connection caution is indicated but not necessarily exercised.
RCA connectors are not bad by design. Otherwise they would not have remained in continuous use since the 1930s. They are frequently cheaply made or unsuitable for some applications.
