Remove low-pass filter on the sub-out

I have an RSL Speedwoofer in my listening room that can easily play down below 20hz with corner loading. I would love the 30hz lower limit of the sub-out to be removed if this feasible.

If you mean just disabling it - won't that stop the output through the sub-out RCA altogether?

The only other settings in there are Phase and Speaker Sync (aka time delay)

TBH, I'm not sure as I don't use a sub but my reading of that is that it sends "full-range frequency output" to the sub while the other settings are unchanged, and isn't the same as turning off the sub output. Maybe a sub user can comment ;)

You do understand what a low pass filter does? If it is set at 30Hz then all frequencies below 30Hz go to the subwoofer.

See the screenshot. From doing room sweeps I can confirm that my sub isn't outputting anything below 30hz with my crossover set to 50hz.

When I say low-pass filter that may be misclassifying what the Ultra is doing. From the sub-out control screen you're able to set a crossover between the speakers and the sub anywhere from 30hz on up. See the screenshot in my post above. It indicates pretty clearly that it's outputting 50hz down to 30hz.

As @DRC said, the crossover setting on the WiiM is not the lower limit of the sub. It is a slide bar to set the main speaker high pass and the sub low pass at the same time.

I'll have to double-check my sub position. I'm seeing a cliff-like drop-off below 31hz.

What you're saying makes sense - I put 2+2 together and got 5 it sounds like.

Do you mean that if you connect your sub to a non-Ultra device there is no drop off below 31hz?

No - I haven't done that and it may be that I'm just not sufficiently well versed in HouseCurve or REW. I've attached the sweep I did recently in HouseCurve.

I hadn't ever done a sweep in that room before so I have no reference point for my reading of the curve below 30hz. Obviously the sub will start to drop-off at that point anyway but without that comparison I was blaming the Ultra for cutting it off below 30hz.

Unfortunately I am not an expert and do not know if iOS devices can accurately record below 30Hz. (Hopefully other members can offer some sound advice.)

If the only audio you can connected to the sub is the Ultra, you could try connecting the Ultra's line-Out to the sub and compare it to the sweep of the sub-Out. If you do this, please be careful with the volume settings.

I was using a Umik-1 calibrated mic with the HouseCurve app on a Macbook so it should definitely be able to pick up sub 30hz.

I will try what you suggest and see what I get.
