Roomfit results

Hi all,

As the wife is out today I thought would start playing around with Roomfit .. What your thoughts on these results and is there anything obvious that I could do to technical improve the results?

I am also waiting for a timeslot to rerun my roomfit when family is away. I got some suggestions that were kindly shared by one of the experts.

I don't know enough so will wait for the experts to comment on this thread. It may help if you share your setup details i think. I guess +/- 3db differences from the target isn't bad in general based on my understanding, hope wiim will show what's a reasonable margin in the graph some day.

It looks promising!

The phone's built-in microphone might not be picking up the subwoofer's low frequencies, but there don't seem to be any major peaks or dips. As is often recommended, I suggest setting the frequency range to 20Hz-300Hz and trying a moving microphone measurement.

The microphone did not appear to be recognized. Did you upload the calibration file?

What does the response before correction look like? What is the sub crossover. There is a deep dip at 50 Hz.

Try turning your phone so it is in landscape mode, and then you should be able to see signatures.

That looks pretty good to me. Good job!

Perhaps there might be some room to improve subwoofer integration by tweaking speaker/sub delay and/or crossover frequency in WHA, but it is by no means necessary and might not even make that much of a difference.
There's also a dip just below 100Hz which looks like it might be an SBIR notch, but it is narrow so may not be that audible in practice. How far are your speakers from the wall behind them?

And most importantly, how does it sound to you?

I'd be very tempted to keep the proposed correction below 500Hz... but keep the original above... In any case, the two options could be compared without preconceptions by listening... to decide...
