In that case, I would definitely go for the 224+. However, thank you for pointing out the 225+ as that is what I would likely get.For 2 bay models it's only ~£140 difference between the J (223J) and Plus (224+).

Yes but in monetary terms it's not that much; it's not even a Pro!"only"? That's like 50% the price lol.
I truly understand and respect what you mean but I see it as a one time investment for the next 5 to 7 years. I'd rather sacrifice a bit at this stage than hit a brick wall after 2 years."only"? That's like 50% the price lol.
By running costs do you mean electricity consumption?About £40 less then the Plus.
I haven't looked but running costs may be slightly higher with the Plus.
Yes. Check the spec sheet for the current model on the Synology site.By running costs do you mean electricity consumption?
Definitely seems like a really good software / server but I think I'm going to resort to the built-in solution provided by Synology.here is with minimserver enabled and disabled

I'm not too fussed about slightly higher running costs as long as the solution itself is good and reliable.Yes. Check the spec sheet for the current model on the Synology site.

What benefit do the pro versions provide?EDIT: The Pro seems to be discounted to £125 at the moment!
For now music only but I see myself using it for movies too at some point (4K minimum and possibly 8K)Probably RAM / NVME cache upgrades? With faster CPU.
What exactly will be using it for?
Can one disable the artwork creation in order to stop that entire process? Lists without images is what I want.I found Synology audio station/media server artwork creation not that great. Created about 20GB of hidden folders/files, I think it created one directory with multiple png/tiff per album or track, can't remember. The constant indexing/file check update to slow system down.
ie if I'm converting or updating music in the music dir it'll keep on (audio station/media server) checking and updating those files.
Best for the software to only check files manually process.
Sorry for the confusion I was referring to the price of a WiiM Pro.What benefit do the pro versions provide?

I think Roon is expensive but it's probably the only platform that can play anything from anywhere, all within its phone app.
Sorry for the confusion I was referring to the price of a WiiM Pro.
I already have the Wiim UltraSorry for the confusion I was referring to the price of a WiiM Pro.
