WiiM Home App v3.0.8 Update - Dec 26, 2024

Please review the app update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us.

App Release Version
v3.0.8

The Android app has been released. The iOS app is still under review by the App Store. Stay tuned for updates!

What’s New:
  1. Room Correction Enhancements (Beta): Perform multiple measurements for improved calibration accuracy and a more personalized audio experience.
Note: This feature does not require a beta firmware release. It can be enabled by selecting the Multiple Calibrations option in the Room Correction Settings. In the next app update, Multiple Calibrations will be renamed to Multiple Measurements.
  2. USB Media Library Improvements: Organize your library effortlessly by Artist and Year, with a new letter jump list for quicker navigation.
  3. Enhanced Playing Animations: Enjoy dynamic playing animations for tracks on Amazon Music, Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, Favorites, and more.
  4. Plex & KKBox Upgrades: Better artist artwork, easy access to artist pages, display of album release years, and refined UI/UX for a smoother experience.
  5. Queue Enhancements: Add identical tracks to the play queue for continuous playback with ease.
  6. User Manual Integration: Access the WiiM Home App user manual directly from the app.
  7. Navigation Bar Update: Updated navigation bar buttons to white for a cleaner, more consistent look.
Bug Fixes:
  1. [iOS] Samba Fix: Resolved an issue where exceptions occurred due to incorrect shared folder paths.

Be interesting to see how multiple updates are presented on screen and whether you can leave this page to control other devices while updates are being done.
Unless you have lots of a particular type of device, it’s probably not going to benefit most people, particularly as different devices tend to have updates on different days, although there have been occasions where I have had two different types of device with an update on the same day.

Yeah, agree it’ll primarily help those with umpteen identical devices where I’m sure it should make life easier for them. As I suggested, I hope it allows you to use the app when even one device is being updated.

I do have two Mini’s, and two Pro’s, so this would probably help with those updates.

I’m waiting for the update for my Ultra, so it will be interesting to see what happens, and whether I can use the app with another device whilst the Ultra updates.

Hi Slartbartfast,

We are currently researching the algorithm to implement multiple positions for room correction. This includes incorporating different weights for each position's room results. Please stay tuned for updates!
Hi Wiim Team, please can you provide an update on this, as I have searched the forums and cannot find the answer. I would like to move the mic between sweeps to get an average across the room, not just in a single sweet spot. I'm not always sat in the sweet spot, as it is not a dedicated listening room. Thank you.

There hasn’t been an update that I recall

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out. In the meantime I'll try moving the mic centre, 4 feet left and 4 feet right between sweeps for an average. I'll give it a go and see how is sounds vs no EQ. For RC this is required functionality, so I am sure wiim will provide this at some point.

Or just use REW. Always a good idea to check RC results using REW anyway 👍

I only have a work PC and cannot install any 3rd party apps. Maybe I'll check with house curve, or just use that for now, I believe it supports multiple positions. I'm new to RC and REW looked hard to understand for a newbie, even after reading the ASR tutorial!
