WiiM Home App v3.0.8 Update - Dec 26, 2024

I hope different audio outputs can have their own volume memory function. Additionally, it would be great to have a volume control slider in the audio settings so that the volume can be adjusted immediately after turning off "Fixed Volume Output." Lastly, I hope the 500-song limit for presets can be removed soon, as my playlists exceed 1,000 songs. Thank you!

Regarding the artwork issue, it is preferable to use the album artwork when the container type is identified as an album.
When displaying the contents of a container (be it an album, playlist, folder, person, or container object) the header image should be the one associated with the container itself and not from any of its children.

I've just received a test build with the fix so thanks @WiiM Support, @WiiM Team

I was adding Amazon Music HD playlists to the play queue, and then adding playlists shared via DLNA in my home to the play queue using “Add Queue” and playing them in random order. However, from this version, the “Add Queue” menu has been lost, and the function I wanted to use with WiiM has become unavailable. Will “Add Queue” be restored?

I didn’t realise that we had the facility to mix tracks from different sources in a playlist - is that what you say you could do?

Yes, at least until WiiM Home v3.0.5, it was possible to do that conditionally. You could play an created playlist from Amazon Music Unlimited on WiiM, then select a DLNA playlist and tap "Add to Queue" to mix Amazon Music Unlimited and DLNA playlists in the play queue. By using random play, you could shuffle songs from Amazon Music Unlimited and DLNA. However, this is no longer possible since WiiM Home v3.0.8. I don't know if the Amazon Music Unlimited playlist creation feature is available outside of Japan.Screenshot_20241228-191836.png

I can’t seem to do that with v3.0.5 of the IPad app, and my Android phone has already updated to 3.0.8. Can’t see anything in the app release notes either about such a feature 🤷‍♂️

I also use Android. Also, I think this function is probably undocumented.

I reinstalled v3.0.05 on Android and still can’t do what you did. You should perhaps raise a ticket to WiiM and see if that function could be re-instated.

Does the Home app upgrade in the background now?

I'm sure I used to get a notification similar to the Ultra firmware updates in the past?

Now it just seems to update.

I would think that depends on your phone’s App Store setting, not the app itself. I don’t recall any app update notifications tbh
