I don’t like the new tab bar, it looks totally different to the old one, which is still available on the iPhone. Why has it been moved to the top of the screen?

Whilst on the subject of iPad app changes, why do we still have a single central column of device tiles, when there is plenty of screen space for three columns, which would reduce the need to scroll to find the appropriate tile for a device.

Thanks for your feedback!

The new tab bar layout follows Apple’s latest design guidelines, and unfortunately, there’s currently no official way to revert it. We’ll investigate whether a reliable workaround is possible, though it may be subject to future changes by Apple.

As for the iPad layout, we’re in the process of redesigning the UI to better utilize the larger screen. An updated version with improved iPad support is expected to be released later this year.

Yeah, it jars a little given that the rest of the app feels as if it doesn’t fit the same design guidelines. Even with this new bar, it doesn’t have the icon to flip the entries to a left hand column and reorganise the rest of the screen accordingly ( see the Apple Home app for comparison). I guess we’ll get used to it…

This is exciting news, thank you. But may I ask what is probably a silly question, but I'm not really up on how these things work.

If you start a WiiM stream on one Android device, will the lock screen on another connected device also have the lock screen control? For example if the stream is started from the WiiM app on a phone, will I be able to use the lock screen control from a tablet at the same time as well, or only on the initiating device?

That's very technical question but... Do you use React Native for apps development?

Since this is a feature associated with the WiiM app, I expect it to be synced across all Android devices that have the WiiM app installed.😄

I also prefer the tab bar on the bottom, where it's easier for me to reach on my iPad. And now I have to scroll the tab bar to get to the More... entry, even though there is plenty of horizontal space available.

On my Pixel 9 Pro, the Now Playing on Lock Screen only shows the artist/song name with no controls, while on another Android phone it works perfectly. Strange!

Can't speak for Android but can confirm it's syncing across IOS devices with the Wiim app installed for me.

Hopefully it does for Android too.

Updates just came through, and it does indeed sync across multiple Android devices. It didn't want to show a radio station I had requested Alexa to play via RadioApp, but when I tried Amazon and Spotify the control widget became visible on the Lock Screen and in Notifications. The only minor issue I see is that after I stopped the stream from the initiating phone and swiped away the controls, I couldn't remove the controls from my Tablet. But the process certainly works, which is great. Thank you WiiM!

So you can't turn them off inside the app?

I don't know to be honest. Only had the feature for a few minutes and still trying to understand how it all works. But turning notifications off removed the persistent control banner. Turning it on again allows for the banner to return. Easy enough I suppose. But on the initiating device, I can easily swipe the banner away when I have stopped streaming or playing etc. it's a very cool feature.

The WiiM Home App is now finally integrated with the Android media API :p

There is a strange issue with the volume control in the lock-screen. It is not going to zero when turned all the way down or muted. The minimum volume possible depends on what the volume was when leaving the WiiM Home App.

The lock-screen also stay active after the WiiM Home App is closed but doesn't work. I have seen that with some other apps also, so maybe a android issue?
