I have updated 2 of my Android devices and the lock screen controls have now disappeared. Is it supposed to work with Alexa content by the way?

No lock-screen fixes for volume control and App focus on Android?
Hi @hgo58,

We've found a solution to improve volume control by adding volume +/- buttons to the lock screen widget and are in the process of implementing it. Additionally, we've discovered that on certain Android systems (such as Samsung), we may be able to monitor the volume side button events to further enhance volume control. We are still investigating this.

Hi @WiiM Team, @WiiM Support,

Thank you for all your great updates.

I would like to ask you about the behaviour of the app, is this a bug or normal behaviour?

1) Play any Amazon music track in WHA and display the Now Playing Screen.

2) Open the Spotify app and start playing in Spotify Connect.

3) When I return to the WHA, the Spotify music stops.

If Spotify Connect is already connected, Spotify will remain connected when I start playing Amazon music in WHA. This means that while Amazon music is playing in WHA, I can open the Spotify app and switch to playback from Spotify. However, if I return to WHA again, the Now Playing Screen will update, but the music will be forced to stop.

I have tested this with both the Ultra+Pro MRM group and with Amp and the results are the same, so it does not seem to be device related.

If this is normal behaviour, no problem, but if a bug, can it be fixed?

Thank you so much.

(Presumably this is a behaviour that has existed for some time.)

Edit ; This problem occurred not only with Amazon music, but also with Qobuz and Hotmix, however not when playing tracks stored on the phone's storage.

Hi @Wiimer,

This is not a normal behavior, and we will improve it promptly.

Thanks.

On my OnePlus phone the use of the volume side buttons work but not as expected (not absolute volume but relative) and the WiiM Home App take focus even when in the background and another app is using the volume control.

Please refer to ticket #531682 raised 3 weeks ago.

Edit: Just tested new version. Unfortunately still failing in important areas. E.g. The volume control on the lock-screen allows for adjusting the volume between 36 and 58 (depending on initial volume set in WHA).

Can we disable the lock screen widget yet?
Improving isn't the same as fixing. The WiiM Home App is the only one I know of that has an issue with volume and app focus. Adding +/- buttons to the lock screen sounds like a sub standard workaround which shouldn't be necessary. Have a look at the BBC Sounds app for an example of how to do it correctly.

Or just look at the Spotify or Tidal apps. They are working correctly when in the background.

The volume control and power drain issues have been known since the previous release and was the major fixes we expected with this update.

@WiiM Team Please concentrate on fixing outstanding issues before continuing with new functions!

As a software engineer I know it's more fun to make new stuff but as a user I would like to see all the issues fixed first.

8. [Android] MMM for Stereo Room Correction (Beta): Support for Moving Microphone Measurement in Stereo Room Correction. Enable this feature in Room Correction settings.
This looks like an interesting new feature. How do we use it? MMM is never performed using a sweep tone so has pink noise been added to the app?

The first is the usual test sweep, the second plays something like pink noise for about 30(maybe) seconds. 😛

Thanks. Still lying in bed 🤣. Shame it is only for stereo RC.
It's a start.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the results yet because I just did a quick smoke test with the mic built into my Poco X6 Pro (one of those phones where the mic is intentionally crippled below 60 Hz :().

I see "Precision RC" has been removed from the app 👍
