WiiM Ultra Firmware v5.2.633165 - Oct 23, 2024

Please review the WiiM Ultra update release notes below. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to us. This firmware update is being rolled out in stages, with devices updating sequentially over the next few days.

5.2.633165 (In Progress)

Release date:
10 / 21 / 2024

What's New:
  1. Fixed Output Resolution for Coaxial and Optical Out: Added an option to set fixed output resolution to prevent pop noises when changing sample rates. Find it under Device Settings -> Audio Settings -> Optical/Coax Output Resolution. (Limitation: Doesn't work for CastLite yet. Will fix this in the next release.)
  2. Improved Alarm Behavior for Plex: Default alarm sound will now play if Plex server is unavailable.

Bug Fixes:
  1. Playback Enhancements:
    • Fixed playback crash for Deezer alarms and presets.
    • Fixed noise issue when resuming Amazon Music.
    • Fixed no sound when switching between Bluetooth, Line or Optical inputs.
  2. Group Enhancement: Fixed unexpected device removal from group.

I’m only seeing them on Android, but I’m on a beta iOS app version for smart presets and don’t see them there. Could be the public iOS version now sees them now and I’m behind.

Hi Maurizio, Team

The updated App with new clock features will be released between November 3rd and 7th. Please note that we will do our best to make the new feature available by the target date. However, due to the nature of software development and testing, we can't guarantee the exact time we can deliver.

Thank you for your continued support and for bearing with us during this exciting development phase. We can't wait for you to experience the new features!

A new firmware was just released but unfortunately no option of a new Standby Screen included...

Hi to all
After the update I discovered a strange thing. Bubble no longer recognizes Ultra as a local renderer. It only recognizes it as Chromecast. Previously it recognized both as a local renderer and as a Chromecast. The Pro continues to be recognized in both ways.
Bottom line, if I use the Ultra with Bubble, I can only use it with Chromecast. Really a big miss. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I also tried rebooting/resetting the Ultra, but to no avail. Nothing has changed.
I also opened a ticket about this glitch.
I wanted to know if I'm the only one or if I have companions in misfortune

Yeah, been mentioned on the WiiM Fan Page on Facebook too. Hopefully WiiM can quickly identify the problem and issue a priority patch.

hi @Burnside
Thx for your reply, now I know it's not up to me. 🤗 I did'nt'saw the mention on Facebook, because I stay away from whatI I call "Unsocial".😂
Never had and never will have Facebook
In the meantime, a few minutes ago I saw a post from WiiM announcing a new FW with the only new feature being that it had solved the discovery of devices on DLNA. I checked and discovered that the Ultra had silently updated. No rocket announcing the update, but the version was the one announced by WiiM.
I launched Bubble and...luckily now the Ultra is seen again as Local Renderer.
Well done @WiiM Team congratulations for the speed (y) 👏

The same fix is available for the WiiM Amp Pro, too, now:

(... an my Amp Pro already got it 😀 ...)
